Hey, Kathleen, Texas has some great Tex-Mex food! My son, Luke went to SMU and we always had good Tex-Mex down there. Also, had great southern food-sweet tea is the BEST!

i would be in heaven eating Japanese. So I asked my son if he liked it. He says its amazing over there, but as far as food, all he likes is Ramen noodles and pork rinds. I'm like "WHAT?" R U CRAZY? Well, I know he likes stir-fry. I would love the sushi. Did you hear about the wife of the prime minister of Japan? On the news, she said she (I think) wrote in a book she visited Venus or Mars or something weird. Maybe it was in a dream.

My son says there is a good Mexican place to eat right across from the base. I'll ask him the name of it next time I talk to him. He knows Mexican food since we live in CA and have the best here.

When they got to choose their orders after C school in San Diego, Patrick let the boys choose SD that were married, so they could stay stationed where their wives were, and choose Japan, because, after all, he joined to see the world. I said, NO, you joined so your mom could see the world, cuz where you go, I'm going. Poor, poor kid.

Dusty's mom. My son also arrived last week. (20-21st) He left Feb 21, 2008. Had his A school in GL, then his C school and Block One Bravo in San Diego. And lucky for us, he got to come home for 30 days before leaving. How about you?

Typhoon is a hurricane in the Pacific Ocean. My son said it had been downgraded to a tropical storm (unless it has changed in the last few hours).

Hi everyone! This is my son's first duty station and I am wondering about Christmas. Are the ships in or out? Does anyone get to come home and will they be off for Christmas?
