Hi Ladies, I am slowly making my way to Yokosuka! I will be there from August 1-4th. I am so excited to see my son. I will try to get some pictures and put them on my page. Right now I am in Zurich, Switzerland then to Singapore and onto Japan. I am with my husband who is traveling for business. He had surgery and is on crutches so I am the "bag lady" for this trip. I don't care though since I will get to see Matt.

KatK, I meant this sites guidelines, not Opsec, sorry I did not make that clear. I was specifically addresing the part that says its OK to say our sailor is in Iraq, etc., but not the city. So My question was, can we say Yokosuka?
Anyhow, I have found a great site someone on here told me about, here is the pictures page. There are 700 videos. http://yokosukabase.com/pics.aspx

Hope I'm not breaking any guidelines, let me know. I do not want to lose this particular group, it will be very valuable to all of us.

Where are these guidelines? I didn't see anything about them.

since I've been gone a while, I read the new guidelines. We are only supposed to say Japan, and not Yokosuka and not mention ships??? Let me know how you interpret the new policies. Thanks, not much time to read everything!!!!

wonderful news Nancy and Natalie. Hello all. Mary, I got an e-mail from a Navy dad about MCPON West. Very cool. I joined his FB page.
I got back from SD and had to stay in Conroe for another week. My army Nephew and his little girl were there and stayed with my folks and saw my two brothers and their wives also. Now I have to go to denver and wichita to help drive my folks to see my moms last sister and her deceased sisters boys (who were both Navy, by the way....)

Hi all, hope your holiday weekend was great. MCPON West was in Yokosuka last week and they just posted this clip that I thought you might like to see...

Matt called last night and then just got an email from him. He seems to be settling in. I don't know how moms of the past stood not hearing from their sons form months on end. I would have gone CRAZY! I'm glad everyone has heard from their son now. Let's all continue to keep in touch.

Connie, My son will be on the USS Fitzgerald and we heard from him about 2:30 am PST ( 6:30 pm Japan time) He had just landed in Japan. His plane was late so he missed his bus to the base. Can't wait to hear from him again and hope he is getting some much needed sleep.

Connie, I will let you know as soon as I hear from. What ship will he be going to?
