OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

sailorgirl... your PIR is with me then?? Are you going? I feel better (sorry for you andme) but glad we are in the same boat, so to speak!
Comment by alessandrabeason on September 18, 2010 at 12:56am
and yes same here tiff's mom. i got the call when he first arrived there. the quick 45 sec, i'm here safe and i love you call. which was great but broke my heart he had to go so quick. then a call he had earned on aug. 30th i missed bc i ran to the ladies room befor leaving work and left my cell on silent and then he called his dad at least. no other calls. so i'm in the same boat. hoping for a call this weekend or a letter next week sometime. apparently there have been a few "bad apples" in his division so i'm like maybe that's why no calls since then :(
