Any questions regarding DEP, boot camp, A school or in between can hopefully be answered here. I myself was in boot camp from June-August of '09 and am now stationed in Norfolk, Va. This site helped my mother so much, its my time to return the favor.

that must be a common thing to say, because they said that to my division as well. and youre right, its just a way to mess with their heads.
keep writing, dont expect the worst, you guys might laugh about this one day as my mother and i do about the constant mail mishaps we experienced.
you guys will both be in my thoughts and prayers, who knows...maybe you'll get surprised with a random phone call ;)

sailorgirl10 - a girl in my boyfriends division, well, her boyfriend was in his division she was on N4M, she went through it too, it depends on where you live, the mail cant take anywhere from 3 days to a week to get, more if it gets lost or you live farther away from GL. It took my boyfriend awhile to get my first letter, and i'm only 3 hours away from GL, So I was getting his letters, but he wasn't getting mine, so it may be the other way around, chances are, when you get letters, you will get multiple, just hang in there, he may have extra duties as Who said, my boyfriend was MA, and sticks at one point in time, but he was very very busy. Hang tight..they have stamps, and can buy them, along with everything they need, it will be okay(:

@sailorgirl10... Hmm, i dont know. what week of training is he in? this could have something to do with it. or if he has any other added responsibilities by being in a leadership position.
I know i got very little time to write. i would jot down what i could, put it in an envelope and give to my bunkmate to put in the mail pile on sunday because i worked at the chapel and missed mail collection.
sometimes its very hard too, making the choice between writing and preparing uniforms and racks for upcoming inspections. maybe this is what he has done? hang in there.

kinda worried and a bit upset. some people in my boyfriends division have gotten letters and i have still not heard from him all week. i'm thinking he must have run out of stamps or is super busy?! it's very unlike him :(

A short poem for sailors By Charles D. Williams

Sailors pray,
For fair winds and a following sea

The smell of salt in the air,
The feel of their skin as it's touched by the spray

An albatross soaring above,
Dolphins in the ship's wake at play

To witness a work of art that only God can create,
The sunset at the end of day

At night a million stars in the sky,
Safe anchorage in an islands lee

When the time comes to die as for all it must,
To awake in Sailors Heaven where nothing ever rusts

And always there would be,
Fair winds and a following sea

he was probably allowed to keep the paper work but had to chuck the binder, theres not much room to store things like that. its probably locked up where only he can get to it, he might chose to mail it home at a later date...?
