Sharpmom- My son wrote to me the other night about a couple guys fighting, he said he had to stop writing and go break it up. He said there are some guys acting like 12 year old girls, must be frustrating for those who really want to stay focused. Wish I had some good advice for you about your boys leaving home. Its so hard. I have 4 children, 2 still at home. I feel empty too, but I have the advantage of my younger 2 keeping me occupied. Time goes too fast and I don't feel anything can prepare a mom for an empty nest. We just have to stay strong for our children...like we always do.

I've been getting letters almost everyday and I am very surprised. Didn't think he would be able to write as much. Talked about 2 kids getting in a fight as he was writing the other night. Someone stepped in and broke it up before RDCs came in. Praying for phone calls!! As I write this, I am in our van near Champaign, Il coming home from dropping off our youngest son at school in NYC. My heart is breakin right now and I dont even want to walk back into our house 2 kids less, losing my SR to BC was rough but now losin my youngest might just push me over the edge. I have a pit in my stomach and a heaviness in my heart that I've never felt before. Everyone keeps telling me that this is what we have prepared them for, but man it hurts. Where does the time go, moms?? It truly seems like jut yesterday, I was just bringing them home in their little carrier seats. Let's hope for phone calls soon before I lose it. :-p

I finally got letters yesterday.  I was a little bit upset  MPOD as well.  Since everyone else seemed to get their letters before I did.  But I figure two in one day makes up for it.  Have been praying for all of you.  School has kept me so busy haven't been able to check back here very often and then just for a few minutes. Sean says the same about making good friends and that they have the best RDC's. I was glad to hear he is happy about his decision to be a sailor.  Promised to buy his dad and I dinner when we see him.

Got another letter today! He's definitely able to write more than I thought! Total: 4 now. I'm hoping everyone else is getting their sons letters. It definitely gives them that boost when they get our letters. He said he's hoping that this weekend they'll be able to make their phone calls home. So fingers crossed people!! 34 more days!

Another letter yesterday. He sounds stronger with each letter he writes. I've been asking lots of questions each time I write, so this letter was full of answers...lol: They are no longer in smurf suits, NWU (navy working uniforms) now, haven't gone thru tear gas training yet, no wisdom teeth removed - just teeth cleaned, expects he will have liberty the weekend after PIR then leave for Texas, also he said the BCG's aren't too bad looking on him :)
Hope we get calls this weekend too! we should...
