For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We were told not to expect a letter for the first 3 weeks. I know it's hard, but we have to be patient. No news is good news at this point!

Did anyone whose son is on ship 14 div 325 get letters today. I didn't :( Also how many corpsman moms are out here. On a good note only 2 more loads of laundrey to do and had a nice nap.

Need to start working on thank you notes to Danny's friends and family from his party . Kept busy so far today, hoping to get the letter today. Very unusual but we haven't had mail for 3 days in a row. Hopefully we will get some today, if not, I'm going to check with the post office, because that is too weird. Proud Navy Corpsman Mom - I will mention your son's name when I write Danny today and see if they have connected.

Huggy- I agree, this is the only time I am thankful for having to go to work and for housework on my days off. I have been doing everything I can to stay busy. I think I have worked everyday but 2 since Cole left. My 2 younger children just went back to school and being home alone on my days off leaves me too much time to think about missing my boy. Thank God we all have one another to lean on, sometimes seems like others just dont understand.

Danny's Mom- I think Cole will be going to Corpsman school in San Antonio. Last thing he told me was he would be going to Texas, but he was unsure exactly where. I hope they get to know each other during bootcamp...i know they arent there to socialize but im sure they will find out alot about their fellow cardinal company members. My co-worker has a son in air force bootcamp now and he is currently in San Antonio. It would be great to have a driving buddy when we are able to go visit. I dont think we are too far away from one another.

so glad this day has started better than the last two ecspecially yesterday, I woke up missing him and had a dream about him yesterday. Made me sad and want to cry. Then I get to work and a coworker whs son is in the marines gave me a decale for my son that made the tears come.Today I woke up with man so munch needs to be done. Thank goodness for house work today.

Proud Navy Corpsman Mom - thanks for posting the pictures, I enjoyed viewing them all morning. I think we have talked about this before, but my son Danny is going to Corpsman School too.

Still no letter...I hope it comes today. The pictures I posted were approved a couple days ago, you are all welcome to view them anytime. Missing my sailor so bad, last night was strange and quiet in the house. Usually my place is very busy on a Friday night. Still haven't been able to go into his bedroom. He was so proud of himself for cleaning it up, he packed up all of his things in case he doesn't get time to come home for a while. I just can't bring myself to look at an empty room and packing boxes. Can't wait to hear from him. Hope everyone else is hanging in there :)

Yes it does get better. Since this is my 3rd time going through this I thought piece of cake. Wrong. Once you start getting mail it helps. You will always feel a little piece of you heart is wandering around outside of you body but it starts to feel like it has always been that way. Especially when you see how much they have matured in that short eight weeks. If you haven't already joined you might want to go to the PIR for Oct. 5th. I don't know for sure if that is our PIR but my son's recruiter said he was pretty sure that is the date. I figured I would join and then switch if needed later.
