Chas' Mom - yes we are planning to get to St. Louis hopefully by 6 pm or 6:30 ish on Wednesday to hang with Danny. He even has friends coming up that night too. I need to get the address to Soldiers Memorial for family coming the morning of the swearing in ceremony and the game.
We are staying at the drury plaza. I thought my son was staying at the millenium so we picked the drury as it was the closest available, but the pear tree isnt that far away either. I am checking availability of a banquet room at a nearby restauraunt to possibly reserve for dinner for family and friends if anyone else is interested I could increase the number.
That's good new Carols_kitchen...when I googled it, only came up with 2010 so just figured.
ProudNCM....are you staying at a different hotel? Wednesday evening? Chas didn't say anything about the other evening except for the one when we drop him off.
It was in the St. Louis Post Dispatch last year--think even a front page color spread. The game may be televised depending upon sell out--but not the ceremony as I recall.
We are planning on hanging out with our son too Wednesday evening, but not sure where yet. All of our family seem to be staying at different hotels...
Oh thank you Mom_Proud_of_Danny...I doubt it will be televised ... in fact when I went looking up information...looks like it didn't even make in the paper in 2011.
Our plan is to be there by 5 and then Chas said we would "hang out" but he would need to be back to the hotel by 10.
Anyone else doing this?
That is what my son Danny told me on Thursday evening. They are staying at the Pear Tree Inn Union Station, which is on Market St. As far as I know, the swearing in starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Soldier's Memorial, then the family picnic and then they march to the Stadium. I want to witness it all. Does any of know if they will be telecasting the Swearing In Ceremony. My parents are unable to attend due to my fathers health, and they would like to see it real time and not on my video.
Thanks KWL
When I asked my son, his comment was "don't worry mom you are just going to follow Smith (recruiter)" Ughhh I'm such of a control freak it's driving me nuts.
Less than a week away....I'm excited and sad at the same time but I think I'm really getting more excited for Chas.
I tried to call Chief Flowers again today, but always hear the message that his box is full, and I'll be transferred. Shortly afterwards the phone goes dead. I have a list of questions and added yours (Chas'Mom) to the list. I'm not surprised that that his voice box is full; I'm sure he has many moms calling with last minute questions. Guess I'll just keep trying.
