Good Morning Ladies, guess where we will be in 2 short weeks? Wow, cannot believe that the end is in sight. Got a letter from my SR yesterday He sounds so confident and excited. I can see a difference not olny in his hand writing but how he expresses himself, very mature and straight forward. I cannot wait to look into his face and see the change in him that I can read in his letters. Sounds kinda silly but I think that moms will understand what I mean.
13 days ladies and we get to meet each other. Getting more excited by the day. Have a feeling next 2 weeks going to be long
So glad you got a call. Sorry it was only a short one. I haven't even gotten a letter in a while. My mail is lost somewhere; I haven't received anything at all since a week ago. So any news from our division as a whole? How are they doing on their tests? Any news about "everyone" passing anything. My son hasn't mentioned passing anything. I just assume that he's doing okay. My mom has a recordable clock with her grandkids pictures and voices. Every night at 6:00, my son says, "When do we eat?" I love it!! :)
Just finished reading letter a 3rd class wrote to Taylor. A riot I tell you, but sweet. Can't wait to see what he thinks of them, and if he writes back
Cardinal Moms I finally got my phone call this evening at 9:20 p.m. He's doing great, they are in Hell Week. Has kinda of a cold. Gotta to talk for a whole 3 1/2 minutes. Best 3 1/2 minutes I've had in a long time.
no phone calls recently though made sure there was money on phone card
I'm right there with you Huggy!! Have any of you received any phone calls lately? We found out that Danny couldn't call due to having two wisdom teeth out. I was hoping for a call this weekend, but as usual I keep the phone with me 24/7 and no call. I wish he was calling on his cell phone because I have my own special right tone for him. Dannyboy. Can't wait to see him!!
I am getting more excited by the day to see my son.
My son was scheduled to leave Aug 29. He didn't mind leaving early; he has wanted this for so long. His birthday was Aug. 11th (the Saturday after they left). I THINK he'd liked to have been home for his 20th birthday, but I don't think that he was asked. So however they were chosen, there was something special about them! :)
It does seem that several have Aug. birthdays.
I know I shouldn't try to figure anything out...but...IF 4 divisions go through each night, and they start on Th. night, and they don't do any on Sat. and Sun., then the next 4 should go through on Mon night, and we should get a call on Tues. the 2nd. ??? I know, I shouldn't try to guess. I'm so excited. Love seeing that countdown getting closer.
My SR was scheduled to ship August 7, and Cardinal left Aug 6, so it was no big deal for us. I kinda figured it had to do with ship dates, which have to do with "A" school scheduling, which have to do with naval needs, etc etc etc
Plus, as we will all learn, there is a lot that will seem totally random. I think our SRs are learning to roll with the punches. That is my goal as well--which is hard for a long-range planner like me! I used to tease my SR that he did not think past his next meal. What I once thought was irresponsibility is the coping skill he took to RTC.
