Wow, good idea!  Maybe we might want to do something red & white for the cardinals.  Just an idea.

Is anyone interested in wearing something so we can all identify the those of us that have sailors in Cardinal Company. There is a lady that makes Division ribbons for $6.50 or we could come up with something on our own. Any suggestions? The facebook group is wearing a white flower to sarges' meet n greet the Thursday before PIR.

I don't either my son was suppose to leave Nov.1. They called him and asked if he would like to leave in 10 days instead. He was like a kid in a candy store smiling from ear to ear.

I have no idea how they were chosen.  Danny too was to leave like on 9/17 and they moved it up on him too.  BTW, I'm glad they did, because we get to see them sooner now instead of later.

Has anyone found out how our sons were chosen for Cardinal Company? I've heard "it is an honor," but I'd still like to know why they were chosen. All I know is: we had to give up our sons a week earlier than most others. I got a four page letter today, and am missing him so much, but he does sound good. I'd just like to know more about how they chose our sons. Where can we go to read more about it?

One of the moms on the PIR group I belong too shared this and said I could share it with my friends.  Here it is:

I DIDN’T KNOW

I didn’t know that a Mother gives her child a part of her heart and while that child is gone, so is that part of her heart…
I didn’t know what heartache really was…
I didn’t know when you were a baby and your cries would wake me up that when you were 20 my cries would wake me up…

I didn’t know that 2 a.m.
diaper ch
anges were a blessing and the terrible twos weren’t terrible at all…
I didn’t know your toys on the floor and
your bike in the driveway meant there was still a child in my house…
I didn’t know your boots in the hallway and keys on the counter meant you were still here and someday I would miss tripping over your boots…
I didn’t know I would rather your bedroom be dirty than empty…
I didn’t know that there ever would be a time in my life when I couldn’t just pick up the phone just to say
I love you…
I didn’t know instead of wanting As and Bs someday I would want a 1st Class PFT score and an Expert rifle qualification…
I didn’t know when you moved out it would hurt so bad…
I didn’t know that I would preach to my friends to hug their kids everyday, because I can’t…
I didn’t know that as I protected you, someday you would protect me…
I didn’t know what worry truly was…
I didn’t know how proud I would be…
I didn’t know what military families truly gave up…
… until now!

Love you

PNCM Wow how exciting!!  I bet they're excited to get to San Antonio.  I know I am, at least then I'll be able to have a phone conversation with my son.

Mom Proud of Danny - I mentioned your son's name in one of my lettters I wrote to Cole a couple weeks ago. I received another letter today and he wrote, I know who's mom you've been talking to...lol,  and he said it was pretty cool because your son is in the rack next to him :) I agree, that is pretty cool !
