Good Morning everyone! I got a 4 page letter last week. I am super excited, Been writing him 2 to 3 times a week. He said its super hard and he is very home sick. That Chicago was very cold and snowed alot. I didn't get a phone call this week like I had the last 2 weeks. Super sad :( Division #148,
thanks, i hope so…it breaks my heart to think he's not getting my mail
RuthB13, check your My Page.
RuthB13, no one opens the mail except the recruits. Know that mail from some areas of the country has been delayed due to the weather so that may be part of the reason. Also, mail tubs arrive at the RTC each weekday and are sorted as fast as possible, but we often hear about recruits getting mail out of order. We're not sure why some letters arrive faster than others, but it has happened for years. I'm sure that he is receiving your letters by now.
so i just got a letter from my son…he said he's lonely cause he doesn't get letters? except from his girl friend…WTH!!! i've been writing him everyday, why hasn't he been getting my letters! and this letter is dated march 2nd so what's going on? do they open their mail ? and read letters? i've sent cards as well! who can i talk to about this?
HuntersMom~
The first few letters for us were really difficult. He kept saying he wanted to come home, he missed us too much, he hoped he made the right decision, and he hoped he made us proud. By the 4th week, it was a totally different story. Those first weeks at boot camp are all about breaking down the recruit and then building them back up. All of the crying and stuff that breaks our hearts as Moms is necessary and common. i'm so glad I had this site or I never would have known that!! His first two phone calls were very hard, too. A lot of sobbing and sadness. We are a very close family. Five children and none of them have ever been gone longer than a week without one of us. And i have never gone more than 24 hours without talking to my kids. Boot Camp was hell, lol!
Just keep writing to him, it doesn't matter what you write, it matters that he knows you are thinking of him.
Our SN is currently in A school at GL. We can Skype, call, text, email . . . it is heaven compared to RTC. But i still miss him terribly most days.
Have a wonderful weekend, we're all here for you!!
