For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

They get stamps and can buy more at the NEX..they are issued a NEX card to buy supplies with and the card has to be used at the RTC base not like the other NEX cards can be used at different bases...they have calling cards to...or you can send them the free calling cards from callsforrecruits.com

Today while I was on my lunch break at work I felt like writing and ended up with two pages to mail, have decided to keep a pad of paper in my work bag and also in my car for down time while waiting for appts.

Thought of another thing I did that might be helpful to some who's SR haven't headed to GL yet- my son didn't want to take an address book and being of the iphone age is use to using cell phones for everything. I got small laminating sheet(Wal-Mart) and typed the addresses and phone numbers of his parents and grandparents and did 2 per side than laminated. Stuck in his wallet and fits in just like a debit card..

Address labels is a great idea, wish I thought of it! At least a Mom shared the idea.....
Look at how many of have joined, I remember when there were 3 on this group..glad to see it grow...the more the merrier!

My sons been gone for 17 days and I've been writing pretty much every other day . But here's the thing I DONT HAVE HIS ADDRESS YET !!!!!! Ugggh ! Yesterday was a bad day , I felt like I couldn't breathe
