BeachBunny- Thanks. Am ok, hoping for some nice weather this weekend to get out of the house a little. Being in the house is hard at times. I just saw someone's  comment to send address labels to save the SR some time. I just ordered some special ones just for my letters with the flag on them. Maybe something else you can do ahead of time. Trying not to embarrass my great son. Went and got flag stamps yesterday- as I sent my SR with some as well.

BeachBunny...thanks for the info! That is good to know.

MommaDukes...what an AWESOME idea to put a letter in his wallet for him to read.  That is going to be super special for him. I will have to remember that idea for when my FS leaves.  Hope you are doing alright and staying strong!  Just think...any day now you will get his Form letter and you can start sending your letters to him!

Thanks all for the great ideas. I put a letter in his wallet before he left and told him it was for when he needed me.. And to reread when he needed positive thoughts. I have been writing a page here and there and waiting for the address to send them to. Got the box today.. and thanks to all the great info I got on this site I figure out the paper in the box with other SR names on means he got to be a group leader till they got to GL - so that makes me proud.. Try to update him on simple silly things and keep it positive.

Lemonelephant...do they keep a stash of the stationery and envelopes in their A/B drawer so that they are handy?

I'm trying to make a list right now of concrete things to write about to my son when he leaves for BC.  I just think it will help spark ideas for me when he is gone.  Did any of you do this or did it just flow out of you?  For some reason I am so scared that I won't know what to write about.  Some of the items on my list are specific to our family, but some of it is generalized.  I will share with the group just so that maybe someone else can use it to help them write letters to their SR too.
