Mineman Moms

My son arrived at RTC on 11/15/11.  His current contract has him as a Mineman and I am looking to see if there are any other Mineman Moms out there that have sons/daughters who are going in or have just arrived!  Mineman is such a small community that it is hard to gather information about the rate, and would like to hear stories or talk about what our children are doing!

MADre, sorry BC is boot camp. Hopefully you will be able to communicate with your son while he's in Bahrain, either through computer or phone. I don't know how that part works. After the 18 months will he be going back to San Diego?

Hi Alice, not sure what BC means. My son will be stationed in Bahrain for 18 months. I know he is excited and looking forward but I can't seem to share the same excitement with my worries and concerns. I got use to the long distance except this time it is too far away from home.

Hi MADre, I'm also new here. I know how lost I feel and my sons only in BC. That's why I'm so glad for sites like this so we can go through these things together. Does your son know where he will be going yet?

Hello everyone. I am new MN Mom. My son gives me little details about what training he is doing and only shares the fun stuff. Glad to hear him a good spirits. It appears that he has completed his training and deploys in January. I am feel so lost and don't know what to expect.

Hi Everyone, I just joined the MN moms site and I don't know if this is the same site or different. (sorry newbie here LOL) My son is currently at GL for BC and his PIR is 1/10/14. His recruiter told him he would be leaving straight from PIR and going to Texas for A school, but from what I see that isn't so. It looks like the A school for MN now is in SD and that first they stay in GL for a few weeks for IT training then go to SD. Is this true? I only have my hotel booked until Saturday because I thought he was flying out to Texas. If he's staying in GL then I can spend the whole weekend with him and I'll have to get the hotel for another 2 nights. If anyone can help, It would be deeply appreciated :)

My son is graduating on 12/6/2013, any other MN moms have kids around that time.  Son told me he just met someone with the same rating but didn't say his name.

Ryan's mom-

They are able to have their cell phones and laptops after graduation! They are able to use them whenever they are not in class! My husband graduated back in April and finished in Great Lakes in June then he was off to San Diego! Let me know if I can answer any thing else!

Advanced Technical Training and I have heard they can have cells after graduation, but only use them on liberty.
