It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Shelly yes my son got leave for about 2 weeks . We went to the bade to pic him up. Long drive but it was worth it. He enjoyed his time here, but wanted to leave for San Diego. It made me sad but I get it. He was dissapointed about the barracks. He sd he will be on the barge for about 3 months. He sd he just found out that deployment will be in 2 yrs, due to ship being worked on. Yes please stay in touch, my son was overwhelmed the first night being all alone. He found some people he knew today. So I feel better. He sd the base is huge and it's a long walk to get to stuff. Anyway my son can help when your son gets out there I'm sure would make you feel better! I will keep you posted as well as I find things out!!
mamma marina09 My son will be leaving Pensacola Mar 6 then have 10 days leave. So i am guessing he will reporting to San Diego around 3/15. Did your son gets some leave before reporting? I hope you got to have some quality tome together. I am looking forward to seeing my son. So I heard that they are short on barracks and that the sailors on the USS Bonhomme Richard are staying on the barge. Has your son told you anything about his accommodations? I have also heard that they are refitting the ship so it will be in port awhile so they wont be on deployment anytime soon....I hope he is settling in...maybe we can get them together when my son gets there in a few weeks....thanks for letting me know I will stay in touch
Shelly my son just arrived in San Diego yesterday. He will be on the same ship as your son.
Amy my son's leave is Mar 5 for 10 days and then he will be attached to USS Bonhomme Richard in San Diego
