For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello
It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

My girl is S Pact...found out she is not assigned to a ship but a Marine unit thats goes to the middle east...oh and yes she goes with!!!

MichelleB, Part of Navy life is realizing that you don't have much say for the time your sailor will be in the Navy. It is all what the Navy wants and needs at the time. The more you are able to accept it, the easier it will be. Can it change? it may, but not likely. Be prepared for anything though. I really hope this message doesn't come across wrong, I am in the same situation as you. Both my kids are on the East Coast and we are on the West Coast. I just have to thank my blessings. I have heard of Mom's whose sailors are stationed in Japan or Europe and they haven't seen them in years. At least it is easier for us to get together being in the US. It is a very hard thing being a Navy Mom, just remember we are all here for you.

My son is in pact airman, and he just completed battlestation. His pir is 12/12, he said when we talked to him yesterday that he got orders to go to Washington state after A school. We live on east coast and his top 3 choices were on east coast, did you think his station could change before he finishes A school? He is so upset and so are we.

Amanda his orders should say when he has to report to his ship. If he doesn't know how much leave he has, there is someone in P'cola that can let him know.Drece, my son didn't need the laptop for school. He enjoyed having it so he could watch netflix and communicate with us when he was in his room. It was so wonderful skyping everyday after not talking to him so long in bootcamp.
