For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello
It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Thats better in my mind. Originally, my daughter got AO and I was so afraid about her working in that job so when they changed it to this, I felt better.

From what I understand, you can't strike for a job until it becomes available. Now that My son knows what he wants to do, he is studying for that job, hoping he will get it next time he strikes for it.

It was exciting but sad to watch the Essex leave several months ago (on the webcam). Mine has been working with AO but really wanted AD. He had applied several times to transfer to that department but it was denied. Well- today it got approved. His chief said he was mad at him because he didn't want to give up a hard worker! Hard work pays off. He was suppose to have kitchen duty for the next several months but it got delayed. He was bummed about it because he was afraid he would now be next and miss Christmas. Then he found out about his transfer. We are glad he didn't get kitchen duty!

Yes I heard 145 in their birthingb(no ac) and over 150 on the flight deck. Sent him those cooling towels and gold bonds powder.

My son is on the Roosevelt, and they are on deployment right now. They will be returning to San Diego at the end of the year and be based out of there. He will then get transferred to the GW in Norfolk. That will be arriving there in the next few months and will be going thru an overhaul.

Thanks Michael's mom - yes he is APACT. I think he likes the idea that he can see what jobs are out there and then strike for the one he really wants.

Good Afternoon - I am new to the PACT site. My son finished BC on July 17th and then went to Pensacola. He will be finishing up his schooling on Friday and then will head home for 10 days and then he heads to Norfolk. He is excited for this next phase in his Navy journey! I just can't seem to get enough information... he is one to take it as it comes... I like knowing ahead of time!
Have already learned a lot from reading back in the threads.
