Let's chat about our wonderful sons and daughters who have chosen the PACT program.

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Sorry- I wrote that last message before I read this. Yes that is true. Jobs open up at different times. That is what happened to most of the people in this group. One thing he can do is to go to the recruiter and fill out a DIR. He fills out a form telling what jobs he would like to be considered for if they come available. My son did this but did not get one of them. Actually it worked out best for my son because now that he is on a ship he realizes that he didn't want those jobs. He now knows what job he wants. Try the DIR route.

Hello everyone. my son signed up recently as S-pact because he was told all of the other areas he wanted were full at this time. He is 25 so I can't hover over him about this. He wants SWCC but is training to pass the physical to get in that. He had a list of his other choices when he went to MEPS but after being told those areas didn't have openings at the time, he went S-Pact. Is what the counselor told him true and they don't have openings in certain areas at times?

Splash- that makes me so sad!!! I can't imagine how hard it is on your daughter to let them go!!!! I will pray!! Maybe aunt will wake up and realize she is too young for this before these 2 boys have to go through all this!!

Hello Moms!

I had a great time with my daughter and it is still hard to say goodbye. Lots of tears from both of us.

My oldest daughter and her husband recently started doing foster care with the hopes of adopting. They have had 2 beautiful little boys in their care and today found out that a 20 yr old aunt will be taking those 2 and their 7 yr old twin brothers. Yup 4 kids with issues for a 20 yr old. Dad is in prison for the 4th time and mom I on her way to prison. Sadly their is a huge drug issue in the family. I have compassion for the family but disagree with the decision of CPS. Please pray for all involved...especially the boys.
