Let's chat about our wonderful sons and daughters who have chosen the PACT program.

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

It all depends on command. My husband last year had school over the 4th of July.

Is there any way of determining when the next group will start their PACT school? I am assuming it will be after the holiday, but will it wait until the following Monday, or will everyone wait until there are enough to form the class?

Good news - my son has a fit for duty note from the doctor. Now is the waiting for the PACT school to start. Hope it does not take too long for the class to form

misisu- I'm not sure what ship my son will get. He has PIR June 30. So just two weeks till I get to see my sailor! I'm beyond excited! Some moms on our Facebook page have kids in the 900 division so their SRs perform at other PIRs and they got to see their kids on he live feeds of PIR. Have to admit I was kinda jealous and excited for them at the same time. My son plays piano and violin and he never spoke up about his musical abilities so he's not doing anything musical at the Navy. Oh well. He is the Religious PO so hard cool though. And he is a road guard which I guess is kinda dorky. lol. The other moms said they don't particularly like being a road guard at RTC. I'm proud of him no matter what role he is playing. I'm definitely excited to find out more about his future job and rate and ship, etc. I'm learning so much by just being a part of these groups. I'll admit though, I read a lot more than I post. I don't think I know enough to really contribute to discussions. I also find the Facebook groups much easier to navigate and post and comment, etc. so I am much more active on Facebook in those groups.

misisu,  My son is on the USS Carney.  He loves it!.  Mind you, they haven't gone underway yet.  He is experiencing all the wonders of Spain!  He talks to me more now that when he was home....super excited.  Being at sea, will, I'm sure be a different story.  But, he does like his Chief and shipmates.

TieranyC. my son is S-PACT. He graduated 8-12-16. Not sure exactly when the "A-School" started or ended, but he got to come home for 10days Sept 2nd, left again Sept 13th. Hope this helps.

My husband is S-PACT and was told A School would only be 10 days. Now it's looking like 3 more weeks (not including this week) does anyone know the time frame??

Genca and cjtizzy55, I am so egar for my son to move on! He is scheduled for the PACT program but is on THU until a dr appointment on 6/28. He does have orders to a ship in Little Creek so he is excited as well. What ship is your son going to meet?
Comment by cjtizzy55 on June 10, 2017 at 12:45pm

Genca, good luck to your Recruit!  My son just finished A school at Great Lakes.  He is also S-Pact.  He was in school approx. 3 weeks (1 week waiting).  Home on leave now, before he meets his ship in Spain.  He got what he wished for.  Also, he received his orders before PIR.  He's excited to start this new part of his life.  My understanding is S-Pact is apprentice seaman program.  They will do all the jobs that need to be done (I'm sure some are not what they want).  And learn a lot.  Hoping that he'll be able to advance through hard work, attitude and responsibility.  He's very happy!
