PACT Moms

Let's chat about our wonderful sons and daughters who have chosen the PACT program.

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Thank you. All of you have been so helpful in helping me get info and keep my sailor safe!

Since Facebook requires that you use a REAL name, I just want to remind those who are on Facebook to set you profile to allow only your friends to see your comments posted on your personal page.  Otherwise, anyone can see it. Additionally I would recommend to not comment on anything controversial, political or potentially harmful to you and your sailor (and recruits). Be careful in accepting friend requests. Check them out. I would also ask family & friends (who are on Facebook) to NOT share any photo of your sailor that you have posted on your profile because if the person shares a photo on his/her profile and he/she allow anyone to view his/her page, then you have just posted info of your sailor to the world. You can send a message to your Facebook friends and ask them to safeguard any information on your profile about your sailor/recruit,

By the way, you can prevent a Facebook friend from seeing anything you posted by making the friend an Acquaintance. Nice way to not often anyone but still keep the person at arm's length.  Be sure the Facebook groups you are joining are "closed" (group name & members visible to public but not comments) or better yet "secret" (nothing visible to public, only to members).

Vickie360, as the creator (and admin) of this group, you can create PAGES of reference material. Answers to questions that are asked often about being Undesignated, links etc.  These pages will be visible just under the member avatars on the right.  Check out the Sub Moms group or the Boot Camp Moms group for examples. I am happy to pass along any info I have learned since joining this site in '09.

Happy New Year to everyone.

Well I literally just got Facebook because my son went in the Navy and I heard there's a lot of info there. Do I look that up just like I would search it on here?
