mommies - I started writting letters the day after he left - wrote three and got his address from my son's recruiter - mailed them all ystdy in one envelope numbered 1,2 and 3. I didn't even want to wait for the form letter - hoping to hear from him soon. and will continue to mail him every other day and in between I gave his address to friends and family.
I hear that there are some SRs that do not get any mail - which is so sad. I'm hooking up with a teacher friend to have students write letters and will mail for him to distribute who may need a letter of encouragement.
KEEP THIS GROUP GOING - NO CHANGES.
FTLW, not sure why - could be something new NING did with their program when new groups are created. Let's (you and I) check into it and we can figure it out maybe off line by phone.
We don't want to our new moms to think they've wondered into a group about website building instead of N4M PIR groups.
Note to newbies - particularly those w/o much computer/internet experience. This is a great opportunity for you to get internet savvy - much of how you communicate with your LO (loved ones) in the future will be internet based.
TIP OF THE DAY.
Scroll up on your screen. You'll see a horizontal box with the contents starting with the letters: "http://www" this the the World Wide Web address of the site you are view. When someone wants you to send them a link this is what you want to copy. To the right of the box you'll see a little icon with an arrow (most of the time circular) - when someone suggest you do a "REFRESH" - this is what you want to click.
Bunker: I don't think it is an issue with the link address. We had another group that did that and it was fine. The important thing is that the pir date is first. That is what brings it up on in the search box. I think she should just leave things as they are. Probably too complicated to change it, and like I said, it works.
I would not create a new group at this point.
Hi everyone, I am Lora, aka Lala the ribbon queen. I am another Veteran Mom here to help make this journey a little easier for you. I have been on this site for almost 18 months. My daughter is an AO and her husband is an IT. They are based in the VA Beach area. Please ask any questions you want answers to. There is no such thing as a dumb question. We are all happy to help in any way we can. We understand how hard this is for you because we have been through it ourselves and we want to make as easy for you as we can. This will be your main discussion area and you will get to know the other family members here and learn about this journey together. If you have questions be sure and post them here instead of the individual DIV discussions so that we can see and answer them quickly.
Welcome to all of you :-)
