Got a call from our son who made it to San Antonio safely.  Still in shock about being treated normally again; he half expected to be yelled at upon arrival!

Does anyone know where I can find a video of the PIR? I couldn't find any on YouTube. Thanks

Also the USO at O'Hare was wonderful. They had computers they could use, food, drinks, and nice chairs that they can sleep in while they wait.

Yesterday was wonderful! Have a few things picked out for your sailor to do because we keep asking our sailor "what do you want to do" and he had know idea because he said he's used to being told what to do. He just wanted to be with his family "WOW" it does changes them. He looked soooo handsome. It was hard saying good bye again at O'Hare.

Just got a call from our sailor. He arrived in CT safe and sound. It is snowing there. Imagine snow in Oct. He said he will probably spend watch shoveling. So glad we got up early to visit with him. Not many people at O'hare at 01:30 am. Embarassed my whole family by clapping and cheering as our Sailors walked by. It was worht the scron of my family to see the boys smiles and hear their thank you ma'ams. Got love those boys in their blues.   I Love my Sailor.

rlbly:  Better to be safe than sorry!  You got your pick of seats by being early.  You never can gauge the traffic going into PIR.  So it is always better to start early.  Gave you time to get your seats, test out cameras, use restrooms, etc.  I have heard too many stories of people being caught in awful traffic and getting there only to squeeze into seats "somewhere."  No time to even visit the restrooms!   :-)  This was also a smaller size PIR group...the ones 11 divisions or higher..it is a MUST to get started early in those groups.

At Midway also waiting with our son to leave to San Antonio.  So grateful we get this opportunity to be with him for a little while before he leaves.  Springfire, maybe they know each other and are friends!  Will make it so much easier at the next place to know people.

Hope everyone else is having safe trips home or lots of fun with their sailor for the weekend.

Here at midway, our son is ready to go to San Antonio, I hate saying goodbye. What a day, we started at 6 am and still going.
