For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Sounds like this is just a 'bump in the road' for him!! I used to hate when people told me that. To me, it was a complete devestation. But looking back it was not the end of the world.... it's just that it seemed it might be the end of his navy career b/c the dr told him it was really bad and thought there was lack of blood supply to the surrounding bone due to the fracture... etc. So, after reading a lot of stories of people being sent home, I was afraid he would be sent home. Thank God it all worked out. Sounds like it will for your son, too.

He is handling it pretty well. Better than I am. He is home sick. He has really never been away from home. He told me to stop crying and to know that this is all in Gods hands.

My son broke his foot approx 14 days before his PIR. So, he started where he left off - left RCU and joined a new division for 2 weeks. So, yes I was able to go. That is awesome that he is already having no pain after only 4 days of rest! You just never know. How is he taking this?

This past Thursday. They told him 6 weeks and he was week 5 day 5. But when I spoke to him last night he said he has no pain at all. I hope he heals fast. Did you get enough notice to go to PIR?

Aw, I am so sorry - I know exactly how you feel!! I actually created this group because I was looking for more people with loved ones in RCU. My son finally got out 3 weeks ago but he spent a total of 6 weeks in RCU. My son had a stress fracture in his foot. He was told 8-10 weeks but fortunately I guess it was a good stress fracture b/c it healed by 6 weeks. Otherwise, my boy would still be there right now. There is 1 other page for RCU called ship 6, but I don't think there is anybody in that group with someone in RCU right now. When did he get transferred to RCU?

My son was PIR 8/12 but has stress fractures in both legs and has no PIR we are looking at 9 more weeks at GL. I have felt lost here on N4M.

I have been feeling very alone out here on N4M's. My son has a fractured foot and was set to graduate in 4 days but no longer has a graduation/ PIR date. Looking for other moms/family members who have a loved one in RCU.
