Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

SR started BC on 1/16. He was diagnosed with a foot stress fracture on the 28th. He is now in RCU-poor guy! He says he could be there possibly 6 weeks. My question is, what do they do in RCU? Do the "mail" rules still apply? No care packages or anything. He didn't call this weekend but he did get about an hour to update his FAcebook. :)

I used to send my son newspaper clippings from our local paper to keep him up to date on what was going on at home. Lots of jokes. They need to keep their spirits up while in RCU. Lots of puzzles, sodukp, crossword and word search. Lots of website you can print them from online or just pickup a book and rip the pages out. I also printed pictures off on regular computer paper and wrote my letters on the other side. Hope that helps. Good luck to your daughter and I hope she heals quickly and gets back to her division to graduate.

My daughter is in RCU. When she called to notify us, I was at work & my husband thought she said ICU! She got to call last night and I found out the correct lettering. She is doing physical therapy, but has no idea when she'll be able to return to training. She says she is not leaving there until she graduates! We were unable to get her new address, she was told time was up when she realized we didn't have it. She says she is so bored in RCU. I printed some puzzles to send her to help pass the time. Is there anything else I could send for her?

My son was in RCU for 6 weeks and I know it was pretty horrilbe for him. He was also doing physical therapy. The femur is a huge bone, though!! Way different than what he went through. I would think it would take at least 6 - 8 weeks to heal? I hope she is doing okay. I know you can only talk to her maybe once a week, so try sending her as much mail as possible. When you talk to her mabye try to talk about things other than boot camp. My son was devestated about having to stay there longer than planned and hated talking about it. So, I would just talk to him about life outside of bootcamp. They really have no connection to the outside world except for phone calls home. Will say a prayer for your SR......

@Donna: I'm so sorry I know how excited you were to go see him sooner, but he is right he gets the privilege to walk that parade floor and celebrate all that he has been through and it sounds like that was really important to him. And your son has blossomed into the man you created there is nothing better than seeing that in person. As a mom who has walked in your shoes I know the feeling of hugging your son after that ceremony and its priceless.

Wow our poor babies!! :) I can tell you that Colten is a much stronger person than I am. His response to being ASMO'd 2 weeks was mom I have been here for 4 months what is another 2 weeks. He said and the 2 things I really wanted to participate in and wasn't going to be able to do I can now do Captains Cup and PIR. He said so really they did me a favor. He has such a good attitude. I wish i could be that strong. I am just a basket case. I can't wait to see him.

Yup, that's right. He said when the RDC left the area they would kinda whisper to eachother a little but they were not allowed to talk or do anything but sit there in the middle of the floor.
