The website that I sent to MommasHeart was www.sanantonioriverwalk.com. For those of you who come to visit us it has a ton of information about downtown San Antonio.

Mommasheart- I'll send you the link to the other group in a minute. My son phased up fairly quickly, 2nd week there. However, he was able to go off base with family in phase 1, just had to be in uniform and had a curfew.

Oh, I am not finding another group for San Antonio "A" School Sailors. Is there one? I need some Phasing up info.

Hi Queenjailye! Yes, I LOVE the website you referred. It was of great help!!! But between my Sailor skyping me, cutting grass and trying to throw dinner together (which happened at 9:15pm) I was not able to get back to you like I wanted. When I get settled down here at work I would like to message you. Thanks all!!!

MommasHeart-I am so excited for you. Did you find the website okay? Have a great visit! I know you will love it.

Thank you AmyN. I am so excited that I cant wait!!! Being at work today is hard.

Queenjailye: We are leaving Thursday night on a plane and staying until next Thursday, the 14th. So we will have 7 nights and 8 days there. This is just too exciting! My daughter cant wait either. I am trying to find out what the chances of her phasing up to Phase 2 will be by Friday. She will have been there a week by then. Otherwise it will be ON THE BASE with her in the evenings and weekend.

MommasHeart: downtown is so nice. The Riverwalk is beautiful and the Alamo is a neat place to visit. I wanted to go to SeaWorld and the Zoo, but just didn't have the time or money. I found that is was pretty easy to drive into downtown, park and walk whereever you need to go. The Riverwalk has a bunch of good places to eat. I've only been that once, so I'm sure I missed a lot, but I really enjoyed it :) Good luck on your travels.

Hi all. I came to San Antonio from Mississippi back in the beginning of May for my sailor's birthday. It was SO GREAT to see him. San Antonio is a nice place. I agree that everything is very well marked and lots of turn arounds. I actually came with my 17 year old son and have never traveled without my husband. I was a nervous wreck, but I am so proud of myself for making it alone. :) I will say this. There are not really any good hotels close to the base. I got my hotel through Priceline and we were actually about 20-30 minutes away :(  I will try and stay a little closer next time. I can't wait to go back!
