My Son just arrived last Saturday. I'm excited to hear about all the things they learn in training. Is there anyone else who's son had PIR on 1/27/12 as well? My son was the only one from his division who was going for MA.
Hj, all! Im Peggy and my son is a Naval aviator attending Primary flight training in Corpus Christie. He finished Officer Candidate School at the end of May 2011 and spent 6 months at NAS Pensacola getting his pilot's license. At least for the next few months he is close enough to come home every other weekend!
Thank you for the welcome. My daughter says she loves San Antonio so far and she just can't wait for classes to start. She says the only thing that she has to get used to is it is so quite compared to home. She has 6 siblings so our house is never quite. haha
Hi Fatty Cat - how is your daughter liking the base so far?
Hi everyone my daughter arrived in San Antonio last week for A-school.she wont be coming home for Christmas she will spending the holiday there on base.
Just wanted to say thanks to all who provided info to me before my daughter left for GL. My last contact was 2349 on Thursday, 8 Dec. Still not quite sure what to do in the house now that she's gone, but I think in time this will remedy itself!
Gbearmom - was reading through the postings and yours caught my eye. My son just PIR'd last Friday, the 2nd. Believe me, the eight weeks seem like they are going to take forever, but once you start being able to send and receive mail, it goes so quick. Make sure you write your daughter as much as possible. From what my son said, that was very important. They all looked so forward to mail call. Any questions, feel free to contact me, it makes it easier to know what your kid is going through.
My son got down to San Antonio on the 3rd. So far he is loving it. He is starting classes next Wednesday on the 14th (he is reserve so he gets into classes faster than active duty). He is flying home late on the 18th for 2 weeks of leave. Yeah!!! We weren't able to go to PIR so haven't seen him since the beginning of October when he shipped. Very excited!
