Thank you so much for the info, I knew we couldn't discuss it here, but figured out there was a way to get the info when I started seeing other people who already have hotel reservations.  ha
I appreciate it very much.

Hi ladies, need some help if one of you has time.  New to this, it's my son's first deployment, so needing some information on WHEN the homecoming is, and anything else I would need to know??
If someone could private message me, I'd appreciate it so much. Or tell me who I need to contact for more information?

Again, I'm so sorry it's been a long while since I've checked this. Yes my son is a cook! He actually is in charge of the inventory and the refer and the breakouts. Have you heard anything from the Ombudsman? I'm going to email also, especially if we have to get on a list! I'll let you know what I find out and we can compare notes.

Are you going to go see our sailors come in?

Hello all, just joined, my son has been on board for about 2 weeks now, I don't know why I didn't think to join this group until now.  First deployment also.  Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Good Morning Ladies, I'm a Navy Sister. My brother is FC3 Hernandez on the USS Mahan. This is his first deployment and we are completely lost on what to do to communicate with him besides email. Since I live in NY and not on base I am not familiar with family groups or the FRG, ombudsman etc. I would appreciate any information I can get from you ladies. I want to send in a square to the calendar that the ship posts on Facebook. I believe that's the FRG calendar how should I go about doing so? Is there anything I should do to be able to go receive the ship when it returns from deployment?

Hi all, I'm sorry I've been off so long.

My son called Sunday and said he got to go scuba diving! What a great treat. He didn't know how to dive until they had a quicky lesson. My hubby and I dove before our 2 boys were born so I don't want to know what a quicky lesson entailed. They didn't dive deep though. What a great experience.

Stefan's mom, have you found the Ombudsman yet? I hope so, if not maybe I can help.

xo,

GO NAVY

You probably guessed that i'm from Oregon. Where are you ladies from?

Comment by Tracy from McKinney on March 14, 2013 at 9:27am

Got an email from the Ombudsman yesterday stating that  crew can receive e-mails but cannot send them.  Limited information in the e-mail, I didn't get the idea that this was a tactical thing but just some kind of glitch...that is great news.  Advancement tests are today so they will be extra busy...
