Thank you for the kind welcome.  Yes, I would love to be part of PR Facebook -- I've requested to twice now, and also written the Omsbudsman directly for details relating to the homecoming but have not received any replies yet.  If anyone might have any insight to share that would be great.

Wouldn't that be neat if Carolann's son and my son were roommates?  I've seen so many pictures of the group of kids together -- looks like a great bunch. Looks like they have formed quite a bond and had a lot of fun too in spite of all the long hours of working.  I'm so happy for them all -- and relieved to have them headed home!  Best, Katherine

Hello and welcome all new comers. So glad we have some new ones on here. My son is a CTR 5 on the ship. I know he is ready to be home too. I don't know if he is staying in Navy too much longer either. I got an email last week and it said  he had some bad news, good news and really bad news. He is frustrated and he may be getting out in August. I really hope wished he would stay but that isn't my decision. We are suppose to be going in the summer as well. I really hope he is going to be there when we are in Hawaii. That is the only thing I can think of that could be bad. Yes  i do believe they are on their way home. Mine will be home home soon after that too. I CAN'T  wait!!

I am so happy to have new people to chat with on here too. Can't wait to get to know all of you.

Carolann, I am on the Hawaii one too, they give great info too. There is also a Pearl Harbor one if your son is there too. I also have another site called Allmoms feel free to join it too if you want.

That goes to all of you. If you want to join Allmoms that is another one of my sites.

My son is not a chatter box either so Katherine I know how you feel. He doesn't really tell me anything. I am lucky when I do get to talk to him to talk to him. I have to do most of the talking unless he feels like it.

Hello All,  This is my first attempt with a comment altho I've been following along with you for the past month or so.  Our son (a SWO) isn't exactly a chatterbox so I think I've learned more from you than him, so thank you for that!  Our family plans on being on-site when the ship comes in, let me know if any of you will be there too.  It would be nice to meet each other.  Also Carolann, I noticed you said your son is a pilot.  My son's roommate on PR is a pilot -- I wonder?!

Thank you; I will most certainly check out your tips and the Hawaii group.  I have been a bit concerned, not having heard from him in almost 2 weeks, so I am relieved to hear that they appear to be homeward bound.  I am still learning what is okay to share, information wise!

Hi all.

I am new to this group. My son is just new on the ship...was deployed to the ship Dec.26. Have received 1 phone call about 2 weeks ago. Hoping to hear again but realize that not always possible. I believe they should be on way home according to what he told us. He already has done alot on the ship and actually was liking it!!  He is growing up fast....his statement of "I''ve learned that sleep is a privilege not a rite" made me see that..lol Any news or updates?

Hi all; new to this group (haven't been as active on Navy For Moms as I should have been up to now).  My son is a pilot on the Port Royal.  We are planning a trip to Kailua in the summer, would appreciate any advice on the ins and outs of visiting.  Haven't heard from him since Jan. 8th, am eager to see if there are any updates?

That is cool. I will have to check it out when I get time.

When I did get to talk to mine On Monday I said something about all that is going on over there and he had no idea what was going on.

Okay, my nephew is in bootcamp now. He will be done on Feb 3rd. I am on a site with his grad date and on there they were saying about a recruit and something sad had happened. I read it on the Recruit Training Command. I am not going to say on here what it is but go on the that website and see for your selves.
