After he goes out on a mission, he will certainly get to know the men on his boat and  hopefully make some friends.  The women will soon have a big Christmas party for the crew, and I hope Winston can go. It always sounds like such fun.

I'll keep him in my thoughts!!

What is his rank?

HI ALaska Blue, Moms!

I hope all of you will have a Blessed Christmas and be able to see or talk with your son.  After the New Year, I will be able to spend a week with my son and his family.  I am so excited to get to go.  Maybe I will meet your son while I am in Kings Bay.

Again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

I meant to say " he had not heard". My finger don't always hit the correct keys.

I talked with my son Saturday and at that time, he has heard if Winston was assigned to the Blue Crew; however, he is very closed mouth when I ask him questions. You would think by now, I would know that he can't tell me anything. Just a mother always hoping for some bit of news concerning our sons.
Jeremy did say that if your son is assigned to the Alaska, he would be very with either crew because it is a great group of me and a super Captain and COB.
Jeremy just returned from sea duty, so I know that he will be going out . Usually we don't know when the boat leaves which is the way it should be, but we Mothers sure would love to say our " good-byes". I wish your son all the best.

Yes,we have lived in Chicago for about 11 years now. When Jeremy entered the Navy,we lived in Sewickley, Pa which is just north of Pittsburgh. I usually have a couple of Jeremy's children stay with me for the summer. It was his twin girls turn this year. We had a great time; they are 13. I have found this a great way to really get to know the children since we do live so far away. I will be going down to see Jeremy while he is home. He just recently returned from sea duty. His family is very happy to have him home. I'm glad to learn that you live somewhat closer.

Hi Lin,

Please let me know if Winston gets assigned to the Blue Crew which would be cool. Someday I will learn how to upload pictures to this site, and I can post pictures of my son. Hope to hear good news about your son.

If he does get orders for the Blue Crew, the women of that crew I have found to be very friendly and inviting. In fact, they invited me to be on their group, so I learn a few things about what they are doing. I just learn today that the Alaska Blue Crew got a very good review for this last trip out. I never hear when the boat will leave or return or anything of secrecy, but it is nice to hear what is happening since I live so far away from my son and his family.

Good Morning, Lin ! It is good to have another Alaska Mother on this list My son is on the Alaska and is with the Blue Crew. It will be interesting to learn which crew your son will be assigned. The Blue Crew just lost six men to rank change, so maybe Winston will join that group, but who knows!!!⁄ When you find out, please let me know. My son, Jeremy, is a Chief Petty Officer and is a Missile Tech. He has been in the Navy for 14 years now and is making it a career. He joined right after High School and has never regretted his choice. At first, I was concerned because he gave up a 4 year scholarship to Med school, but I soon realized that this choice was best for him. So I am happy he doing what he loves.

Hi Alaska Family,
Is there anyone out there who has a son or husband on the Alaska?
