Ya'lls plans sound really fun except NavyMomXXXY because a broken ankle sucks. I haven't finalized my plans yet. So i guess it will be a surprise to us all. haha! I'm in chicago but am thinking about going home to be with friends and family in Peoria.

NavyMomXXXY - Ouch. I'm glad you weren't more seriously injured! I passenger really well behind my BF, who has been riding for many years (because he's old LOL). I always wear a helmet, and usually leather. That's about all I can do to ensure my own safety. The picture is from a parade, which is why I wasn't wearing a helmet there.

I love fireworks over the water. I spent one Independence Day in Corpus Christi and watched the fireworks over the bay. It was wonderful!

Oh Oh - I do (have great plans). A nice, long motorcycle ride in the mountains of Colorado with great friends, then somewhere to watch fireworks.

Ladies - thanks for the info. I've talked to her a few times in the past week, but I'm in CO, so I can't get out to visit very easily. She's also spending these last few weeks with her husband, since he was deployed when she went to OCS and they haven't see much of each other for about 9 months! I don't want to intrude into that time if I can help it. It's only 4 more months, then she'll be back on land for a while (I hope)! Thanks again.

Nikki....There is another site on this list called Naval Aviation. You should find all your answers to your questions there. Good luck to you and you husband.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking, but need to vent. My daughter just graduated from OCS last Friday. She's spending 3 weeks in SWOS and reports to her ship in mid-July. We just found out that she will be deploying at that time. A four month cruise. So, I didn't get to talk to her much for the better part of 3 months, and now she's leaving again. I'm sad. Very proud, but sad. This is new to us and I would like to know how much communication they have with the outside world while at sea. Thanks.

DJ hope all is going well. Take care of yourself!

Yesterday I attended my daughter-in-laws baby shower while our pilot/son is out somewhere in the Pacific Ocean doing RIMPAC exercises. Waiting to hear from him.

It's hot here in GA. Hope all of you have a cool, great weekend.

Hope you're all having a good weekend.
