My son is still DEP. I still have yet to figure why he chose CS as his job. I have told him what I have learned from the posts on this site. I think he is more excited about his job choice. I'm hoping that once he comes home to visit after A School, he will show me some tips!
Thanks for all ya'lls posts! I have learned alot about being a CS. My other son who is also DEP, wants to be a corpsman. There is a lot of information about his job! Again, Thanks for all the posts. Ya'll have helped me relax more as I send my babies away!

Hi, my sailor is not an CS, but this place is near and dear to my heart. Our good friend Sherry Carlton in Dallas (A Pastry Chef who owns Dessert Dreams) has gone on as many as 5 carriers to mentor the CS's there. My husband is director of the Texas Chefs Association here in Deep East Texas and he spends over 600 hours a year mentoring, community service, etc. It doesn't do any good to have all the skills, techniques, and knowledge without passing it on to the next generation! Congratulations to all your sailors who have chosen this profession - I am proud of your families. BTW, Sherry's father was an FC like my son, small world, isn't it?

So I"m here to invite you all to post any history of your family that was in the Navy in years past. Please go to the Navy History Group (we love museums!)
and share your history with us. thanks for allowing me to post.
