I haven't heard from my sailor in four days. Does anyone know if they are ported yet?

ohh ok cool. thanks for the update at least I know whats up? on there end I haven't heard from my sailor since Thursday and I hope he is doing alright and enjoying himself.

My son has always used those "ship to shore" cards but he won't tell me how much they cost. 

I did my reservations on line at first, till Barbara told me to call Hampton Inn direct and tell them your there for the homecoming.  I paid 107.00 on line and when I called the hotel I got it for 89.00 for 1 room with king size bed.

We got you all beat!  $54 at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites-Chesapeake...upgrading us to a suite!  Includes full breakfast.  Yeah, it's 30 minutes to the base with traffic. but we can stay almost twice as long at those rates!  See you all at the Night B4 Party! Can't wait!

That is really special to all the ones that have new babies.  What a neat idea to have a tent for them. Boy what an emotional time that would be to meet your new son or daughter for the first time. That just brings tears on and just can't wait to see and hug my son even more!!

Question:   My Son is doing the "mess cranking" for 90 days so we are not going on the cruise.  So if he is only an E2 and is doing that job for now does that mean he can't stand on the ship when it comes in like you see in the videos and pictures?  This is my first deployment experience with him.  Any answers would be great!   Did someone say if he can't get off the ship the first day we can tour it after everyone is off?  

Oh I see so we may be able to say hello before he has to board it?  Sorry so confused at this point.  Can't wait to finally get an email or something!!  Hope the night before party is helpful as well.

My son is also mess cranking. I don't understand how that would impact the tiger cruise. Does that mean he can't spend any time with his Dad and Uncle? He is an OS3. (petty officer third class if that means anything). Thanks for any information.

So I guess I am still confused.  I thought the bus goes from norfolk to NC to drop off the TC people and then the ship comes back to Norfolk with theTC people on board?  So I am trying to figure out how the sailors ride the bus back to Norfolk with the TC people two days before if the TC people get on the ship 2 days before they are to return to Norfolk?  I will be there no matter what the day before so if he is somehow there then hopefully I will know.  Sorry for the questions.   Someday I will be an expert!!   Does the Bataan deploy every year?  My Son was saying we can go on the cruise next year when he returns.

Thank you Joro, I sent the email out and one to my son. My son sent an email, told me to stay at the car, he will call when he gets on shore to find where I'm parked & he will come to me.

Have not received any email about information on TC. Who is sending it out. I live in New York and would be unable to attend any meetings for family.

I haven't received any emails regarding the TC, Night Before Event, or anything else.  I only learn of what is happending through here...so sad...

Curious if the January ombudsman newsletter has gone out yet.  I haven't received it yet.

 I checked the Bataan family web again for the ombudsman newsletter and nothing comes after December 9th for me. also checked bataan frg in yahoo groups and and nothing on that either.    hmmm... I might have to email to request it.

Tiger cruise info was put in the yahoo groups. Check there and if you dont see it then email the ombudsman. Parking for homecoming day and tiger cruise was also sent out to the groups. Anything dealing with night before party, and homecoming day you need to email the FRG
