Sailors attending A School in Meridian, Mississippi

Good morning all.. My daughter just arrived in Meridian on Friday after Grad. She is getting settled in, the weather is weird she said. warm in the day and COLD at night. She went to get long johns last night!! :) She is getting briefed this week and starts school sometime around Nov 12. She said that is the hardest part ... just waiting around to start school, I'm sure she will stay busy tho.
Just want to introduce myself and and any info about the area or base is welcomed.

My daughter graduates on wednesday and is hoping for Norfolk as we live in Virginia.. she too heard that alot were getting orders for that location... we are praying that she will!! She get's to come home for Christmas!! YAY. only unsure thing is if she will get orders before she leaves or will have to go back to Meridian and then get orders... UGH We really hope she will get her orders and be set to leave to her duty station from Christmas leave.
We keep praying for her and all our sailors!! God Bless all of them and hold them safely where ever they may be!!

I would love to join this group as my son will be in Meridian for A school.
Graduated Friday from BC.

I finally got to hear from my son who arrived in Meridian on Wed. One of
the sailors there let him use his cell phone to call me. It was a short call
cuz he was using someone else's phone. Didn't get a chance to ask the
name of the person who let him use the phone. If it was one of the
N4m kids thanks for raising a good kid and letting Jason use the phone. It was
aea code 240. I can relax now knowing he has started the next journey
in the Navy.

My son is going to be an SK. He seems to think tht he will be starting
school on Thurs. I told him about Meridian's rep and he had already
heard about it in boot camp. Word gets around even in Boot camp.

Have a question I mailed my son his cell phone and stuff this past
Saturday. Got a notice from the post office today that it was undeliverable
and could be picked up at the post office. Has this happpened to anyone else??
How do I get him his stuff??? Waiating at the gate is soumds like something I would do.
I almost ogt my son in trouble at Great Lakes for passing up the Chapel to drop off after PIR. I just passed up the driveway it was dark.. OOPS!!

first ect... He told me to put a backslash in his title??? Could that be the problem??? I did insure thankfully. I have e-mailed the post office I'm sure taht will take 2 months of Sundays to get a respose from them!!! :) Thanks for all the help. Hope everyone is doing well.

I talked to my son last nite and he is going to be an SK and classed up Mon.
He didn't say anything about then being on lockdown. Told me everyone is always in trouble for not mustering on time. They mustered for an hour and a half last nite..... Glad to see your back Mimi you have been quiet. I admire your
patience with the Navy!!!!

I shipped my sons phone two day and got a notice from the post office tht it was undelieverable and low and behold he called me the next day from his cell phone. Go figure???? Just make sure you insure the package was the best advice I got from the wonderful ladies on here. Even thou mine has his phone I still don't get as many calls as I would like!!! :)

I think they just like to mess wtih the mom's heads!! :) Hopefully he will get it like mine did. I just texted to tell him it is snowing here and he said ha I'm wearing shorts, nice kid huh??? :) We live close to GL and I was going to bring him his phone and stuff to the airport but, they shipped out at 4 a.m. and he only had time to call and say they were getting on the plane in 20 minutes not enough time to get to the airport to give him his stuff. He survived without it I am the one who needed to talk to him. :) I tried to force him to take his phone back to boot camp with him after PIR he said I don't want to get in trouble. Guess he learned something in BC.

mine just got his valentines days card which I mailed last Monday... Talk about slow!!!!

Can they work at any office or does it have to be where they signed up at???

Of course the Navy took the transvestites right??? I think Jason is kinda hateful towards his recruiter too. I said something about him after BC and he said who cares bout him!!! :)Oh well maybe for time he would do it.

I would have went in a heart beat. I'm sure he didn't know about the boobs or he would have went for sure, probably kickin himself right now!!! :)

He has lost so much weight nothin fits him anymore!!! I am going to Meridian
for my weight loss program!!! :)

yes PIR was amazing, we are only 25 miles south of GL so it hard for
me to know Jason was so close yet so far!!! :) Many times I thought about
getting on the traffic helicopter that does the traffic here and telling them to fly me over GL. Not that I would have saw anything tho!!! :) He wasn't that heavy to begin with before BC so at PIR I didn't even know it was him so skinny!! Plus he had on those lovely Navy issue glasses..... YUCK!! They bothered me more than him, told me I can see better with them on. Angelika enjoy your time with your son!!!

Angelika I was told by a Navy mom who knows everythingt that they are only phasing out the white work uniforms not the dress uniforms. Have you heard something different, I questioned her cuz when Jas came home for Liberty after
BC he said something bout them phasing out the white dress uniform. Complained that he might not ever get to wear it....

Anyone hear from their sailors this week??? Been trying to contact mine to no
avail..... Anyone hear if something is going on down there????

Thanks, mine is probably just sick of me bugging him!!! Tells me I ask way to many questions!!! :) I told him that is my job besides embarassing him!!!

Welcome back Mimi I have missed you!!! When is the ball happening?? I haven't talked to mine all week. No text or nothing so that is why I asked bout the phone wondering if he got his takin away??? Not like him to not even give me a quick text.... if I don't hear from him soon I will have someone looking for him at the smoking pit !!!! I'm sure he spends time there.
