Chris'mom, go to your 11/9 PIR main page. On the right hand side it says events. Look for the 11/9 Meet & Greet (sarge's is really nice and I think it's the third one down,) Click on it and it will take you to the RSVP. The calls usually come in the afternoon so I would think you would be getting a call in the next day or so. I don't think they do battlestations on Fri or Sat nights but may on Sunday so depending on when you son goes throught BS it could be Monday afternoon or Tuesday afternoon. Hope you get the call soon. Keep your phone with you.

PS - we had a rental car and drove to the base... super duper easy to find.. after PIR we were not pressured to be back to the van at their pickup time and my son was DYING to go eat some Chinese food.. we just typed in the GPS and took off.. but either way your own car or the shuttles...., not to worry.. there are soooooooo many other parents around at the hotels that you will not be alone. We stayed at the Ramada since I helped with the Ramada crew with the set up.

Ok Mom's, Time to get your prayer beads rattling. My son who had to roll back for a shoulder injury is now in his last week of RSS, they will do their finals next Tuesday. Please, please keep him and all the sailors in your prayers. He said his shoulder is holding up, they had a really hard PT yesterday but he made it to the last day this last time when it gave out. So holding my Mom breath. Told him I was getting all the Navy Mom's to start a prayer chain for him. Thanks everyone!

I sent my boy brownies to DS... took two weeks to get em yuck never again... sent him two Budweiser Troop support beer mugs... took 4 weeks.. now I tracked that one.. it got to the base two days after I mailed it.. he got the little box 3 weeks later... justsayin,,, B said it is because of heightened security... boxes etc have to be scanned for weapons, bomb etc etc.... so I suppose it is for the safety of the kids and bases...
Jesse's mom--I sent my son 2 birthday cards in August and my mother also sent him 1. He hasn't received any of them. My mother in law send a card in priority package and he received that. Crazy to think we'd have to send everything priority. I thought it was just us.

Lydia...jordan called....he passed...woo hoo. He said he has more pt tomorrow and a written exam....so does that mean he's officially a rescue swimmer? Hoping to hear more good news from others.
Good afternoon everyone. Josh called last night. He passed. He still has to take the written test tomorrow but he did send a picture of his Rescue Swimmer patch. I am so excited and so proud of him and all the other sailors who have made it through this very difficult step.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. I got to "see" my sailor twice today on facetime. It's not as good as seeing him face to face but it's better than nothing. He was able to talk to everyone at the house which was good because most haven't seen him since late June. I can't wait to see him at Christmas.

So, I have been away from this group for a very long time - I believe it was in June or July after my son graduated RSS.
He had an uneventful A school compared to RSS and now is driving cross country to San Diego in a used car he bought just a couple of weeks ago. So far, so good. I think it would take me a very long time to catch up with everyone, so I am just going join in now. Next phase is SERE school and all that comes with that. Any words of wisdom from those with experience?
Yea for all the RSS moms and graduates! Brings back memories. My son graduates the pipeline soon. Going to his new squadron. Wish I could say more, but I am SUCH a proud mom!
Andysmom and kkrHoosier, congrats on your sons doing so well. After hearing what my son went through in RSS you have every reason to be proud. He was supposed to class up on Wednesday but on Monday he text me saying the AWRs were all put back on hold, sooooo waiting begins again.
kkrH.... yea, but just know that they all seem to do great and come out with a great attitude and determination.

Well, my Bman is suppose to get those coveted gold wings this week... I cant wait to see pictures!!! Im so excited and proud... tho he has been done with the pipeline and training now for many months, the wings are sort of the final seal on the long hard training.. they deserve them!!!!!
