Flor, my SR is in 945 and he didn't call till he was there for 3 weeks. Last Sunday was our first call then he called again last night. Hang in there, the 900 divisions sometime call less because of practice times at the end of the day. It was amazing to get 2 calls this week from him but when he hung up, he had no idea when he would call again. I hope you get your call soon though. I know it is stressful waiting for the call.
Hey! I've never seen this group before. Way cool! Yvonne and I open our home on the weekends for sailors, soldiers, marines, and airmen to come over for fellowship, food, fun, family. We've had literally hundreds of School of Music students in our home over the last 13 years. We'd love to invite your sons or daughters to join our activities while they are here in Norfolk/Virginia Beach.
Last night Crystal, Kari, and Christopher from the USS Ross came over for grilled hamburgers, pretzels, and watermelon...then ice cream cones for dessert. Crystal brought over a new game called: "In A Pickle!" We laughed a lot as we tried to figure out what goes "inside" what. Huh? This morning Christopher and Kari joined us for Sunday school and worship at Azalea Garden Church. Christopher had duty so he had to back to the ship. Crystal, Kari and Cody from the USS Iwo Jima came over for dinner. Cody helped make dessert: Blueberry Crisp. And BOY! was it yummy! :) Dinner consisted of Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and homemade bread. Yvonne spent time with the girls while Cody and I had another round of chess. He beat me again. However... I won the second game today... (I really hope he didn't just let me win) ...hmmm???
My son called Sunday and confirmed his graduation date is Oct.18 :) it was soo nice to hear from him. He also said he will be right in front because he is in DIV 949 the marching band and flag holders and staff . He will be in a couple other graduation ceremony before his. I would like to find out before hand so I can watch them,
Mitzi...assuming they do the same will all...your SR should perform at the two ceremonies prior to their own. If you don't already know they livestream each ceremony so you can "see" your SR 2 weeks early!! I get to see my SR this Friday for the first time...I can't wait!!

Yvonne and I bought a new version of Monopoly called Monopoly Electronic Banking this week that we were going to try out tonight. So even though it was only Yvonne and me, after dinner we played the new game together. It is really fun! No cash to pass out or count. An electronic debit machine does all the calculating for you. You play with a credit card that adds or subtracts money from your account. Everyone starts out with $15,000,000 at the beginning of the game. But properties cost between $600,000 and $4,000,000. So the stakes get pretty high quickly! But it is fun!!! :)
Yvonne won! She ended up bankrupting me and still sitting on almost $20,000,000. I'm glad it's only a game!! Tee Hee...
Wow! Today was definitely German food day! What an awesome meal Yvonne made! I love her Sauerbraten (marinated rump roast), Spatzle (German noodle dumplings), Sauerkraut, and Creamed Spinach. Add to that her homemade rye bread, and oh! what a meal!! That was our Sunday dinner today! That was topped off with her German apple crisp and ice cream for dessert. Now I'm ready for a long nap! :)
Kari joined us for worship at church this morning and then for dinner this afternoon. I really think she enjoyed the meal as much as I did!
After we ate we prayed together...especially for her time underway, as well as the advancement exam she will be taking.

my son who is in Div 949 just got off the phone with me, and he was going to be a body snatcher, but was not tall enough, you have to be at least 6 feet tall and he's not. So now he said he going to be a door guard. He didn't sound to happy this phone call, he also told us that after graduation on Friday he has to leave for Florida that night so he won't have much time with us. I'm a little sad about all this and sad that I can't be with him but thats just the way it has to be. He also said that they get mail all week but only can mail letters on Sunday.

We received a 30 second phone call from her on August 28 when she arrived at BC and her box of personal items arrived back in California on 9/5. Crossing my fingers and keeping my cell phone close, hoping for a call soon :)

He joined us for Sunday school and worship at church and then joined us at the house for lunch. Yea! Eric was in the Army at the School of Music in 2003 and came over to the house on the weekends. He played the tuba. It was really nice to see him again! He contacted us back in August when he was in the area so we could get together. But we were on vacation in West Virginia. He's out of the Army now and lives in California. Yvonne fixed Creamy Chicken and Broccoli for lunch and finished it off with Blueberry Macadamia Nut Coffee Cake and ice cream. Eric reluctantly agreed to let me take a group picture of the three of us, and then really groaned when I said yes after he asked me if the picture was going to be on Facebook. Michelle.......recd a letter from scott today. He said they will not be getting anymore calls unless they earn it. So i hope they do. I want to hear his voice again before the im a sailor call. Fingers crossed.
900 DIV is great cause you can see your SRs in the two PIRs before there own! my daughter grad in Aug i have suggestions if you want them for the PIR if yall are going?

A "Fine" Labor Day Weekend at John and Yvonne's
