Yes, can not believe it has been 2 years, his date is December 7th for entering bootcamp. My son has gone through 1 deployment. He returned after 8 monthes at sea and was apart of Operation Enduring Freedom. The deployment was extended and that was heartbreaking. But we has loved ones know the ups and downs of having a loved one serving. I know that it is hard and could not have made it through with out wonderful friends and family. We were not able to skype. The only form of communication was email, letters and phone calls. Not seeing my son was the hardest. I cherished every phone call and every email or letter. God blessed us with his safe return. My youngest son and I drove to Beaufort to spend Christmas with my sailor. He had to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and he's on night shift so much of my time was spent watching him sleep. But guess what? I enjoyed every minute of it. We still had time to spend together. He bought me a Kindle Fire HD for Christmas. I fussed at him for spending so much but I really love it! Next Christmas he will be in Greece, but the Christmas after that, he will be home for good! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!
