This group is for the loved ones of the future Sailors of PIR 03/30/2012!

From your Group Creator proudmama:

I know we are all looking forward to graduation,  and very excited to finally watch our children and or family members become an Official United States, Navy Sailor. Until then, lets all share our experiences with each other. Our experiences today will help other other new moms and or family members  in the future. So lets set a good example, so that our SRs too can be proud of us. I look forward to this journey with each and everyone of you.  God bless you and all the SR's

Eyeronics... It wasn't all that hard to predict. All I had to ask myself is "What would I do?" Especially if I were younger.

With respect to the picture of an SR dressed as superman, it's a no brainer. THAT picture is getting plastered all over the berthing compartment. ;)
  • dawny64

@ Cathie my Sailor had 30 minutes but he seen others coming back with snacks so i cut the call short so he could go get something lol

  • FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW

I am the Very Proud mother of a US Sailor tonight!!!!!!!

The scripture in 2 Samuel vs 20 comes to mind..."He brought me forth into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me."

So very thankful tonight.  I might even sleep good!

    Good night all!

  • alismz

thanks sancy- my verse was : from Isaiah...after we have suffered for awhile God establishes, strengthens, and settles us...hah!

FTLW or others- can you explain the P-Cola stations... a friend brough it to our attention about Corry Station- Wikipedia was too boring to even het into some good reading... thank you kindly: )

  • CaptainFatso

Habakkuk 2:1 - "I will stand on my guard post And station myself on the rampart; And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, And how I may reply when I am reproved."

Lest we think that watch standing is unique to sailors.

  • Proud Ship7 div107 NavyMom

Congratulations to all the new "Sailors".

does anyone happen to have the official division photo of 11/105? :(

  • virginiagirl

How is everyone doing this morning? I got off work at 12:30 am EST and cannot sleep!!!!! I am so excited to know I will be hearing from my husband in about 12 hours and am so proud and happy for all the Sailors that have already made it through Battle Stations!

  • cathie

Congratulations to all you new sailor moms. wives, girlfriends, and father!!  You are now free to pack and start your voyage to Chicago!!!

  • diannep

Thanks, sjtina, for mentioning that 809 is through.  I will send out a "revised" Message to Group for remaining divisions/Battlestations.  Ladies, check your personal emails (not N4Moms emails) for this message.

  • diannep

reno:  There is a discussion group above for those needing rides from the airport--I just bumped it up towards the top.  Be sure to post on there too!  If someone is having SARGE pick them up about the time you get in, you may be able to ride with them.  He charges by the car, so that would reduce the price for all of you.

  • diannep

Just sent Message to Group with remaining BattleStations dates.  Don't forget to check your junk mail/spam folders (in personal emails, not N4Moms emails) for this as sometimes these messages are kicked into there.

  • diannep

Congrats to the new sailors of 097/098/920/809!  HOOYAH!

  • diannep

Calls from 099/100/101/102 can start as early as 2pm GL time today, so have phones handy all day, ladies!

  • lisaf6996

Good morning everyone,  Just 2 more days and north bound.  When are the 107 expected to Battlestations.  I see some are already thru.

  • LilBigMansMom/Ship11/Div101

Good Morning to all! Congrats to all of you who has Sailors... I hope to get my phone call today...

  • diannep

lisa:  Sent you a "friend request" with the Battlestations info for 107.  Also commented on your page.

  • lisaf6996

Diannep when are you arriving?  When are you leaving?

  • diannep

lisa:  I'm not in this PIR group...just one of the N4Moms veterans who has stayed on the PIR sites to help (over 2 yrs now).  When we went up for PIR, we flew American and arrived mid/late afternoon day before PIR.  We booked through the weekend (out on Sunday morning) in case we could spend more time with our sailor.  As it was, he flew out Sat. morning, so my other son and I did some sightseeing for the rest of the time.

When do you leave?  Wish I had known back then about Southwest out of Ft Lauderdale.  Flies either into Milwaukee (less traffic/45 minute straight shot to GL) or Chicago-Midway...no change fee, 2 bags checked for free.  As it was, I had to change our flights once...sigh...paid change fee.

  • lisaf6996

I am flying American,  SW was too much money either way.  My son is staying in GL for school.  He will be there for the rest of the year.  I plan on going up with his brothers in June to see him.  I will look at flights traveling that way then.  Thanks

  • lisaf6996

Well getting excited.  Not long now.  One more day of work then gone.  Hope to see all At Sarges Meet and Greet.

  • LilBigMansMom/Ship11/Div101

Josh'sMomStaci-- I'm so happy you got to see a picture of him, it does ease the mind when you see a picture them:))

Congrats Caryn321:))) I hope to get a call soooon!!!!

  • virginiagirl

    I have a Sailor!
  • all5roc

Congratulations to all 100's!!! Now waiting for 102!!!

  • diannep

lisa:  Watch Southwest's prices.  They run "specials."  I am going to TX to see my son in April.  I got a direct flight for about 1/3 of what I would have had to pay on American.  AND...I would have had "connections" on American, so travel time was much longer.  AND...I would have had to pay for checked luggage--but now it's included int he price!  So I'm very happy!  But keep checking on Southwest, and when there is a special, jump on it!  Consider flying into Milwaukee when you go visit.  Much easier driving and little traffic.

  • dawny64

@ Josh'smom congrats and if u want i will be sure to find him and give him hug for you.

  • diannep

dawny:  Maybe you can private message Josh'sMomStaci on here, and get her private email/cell number, snap some piks of him for her at PIR to email to her, and maybe even let him borrow your cell to make a quick call to her!  The ladies on here are the best...especially for those sailors whose families can't be there...they make sure the moms are kept in the loop!

In one PIR group, one lady brought her laptop to the MeetNGreet at the Ramada.  Skyped with a mom who couldn't be there, and the ladies would walk by the table and "talk to" the "absent" mom through SKYPE!  She felt like she was there!

  • dawny64

    @ Diannep will do thanks.

  • all5roc

I have a Sailor!!!   11/102,  Daughter said all that went thru BS passed!!!!

  • LilBigMansMom/Ship11/Div101

I just got my call & I have a Sailor too!!!!

  • Navy Dad Charlie

Now hear this, now hear this.  The United States Navy has a new Sailor!  Brian passed all his requirements and completed Battle Stations-21 this morning!  We got a phone call from him around 1530 (that's 3:30PM for you landlubbers).  He has been up since 0530 yesterday morning.  He was able to buy some M&Ms and a Dr. Pepper before his call to us so the caffeine and sugar rush should have kicked in by now.  He sounded exhausted and excited.  We are SO VERY proud of him!

  • dawny64

    Congrats everyone!

  • eyeronics

    I have a sailor :D :D :D :D :D :D 11/101

  • all5roc

    "Like,Like,Like" on all Sailor calls!!!

  • AMD's mom

    Congrats to all of the New Sailors and their families! Is there anyone out there that has not received their "I'm a Sailor call" from Ship 12 Div 098? I spoke with my SR on Thursday and he said that he would call Monday. Each of the three phone calls I have received (in the past) from him have always been around the same time and that time has passed both yesterday (obviously) and today. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, I am pulling my hair out! Help! ;-}

  • Nuke Mom

Have a Sailor ya!!  Can't wait till Friday not only is my son going throw PIR but he plans on asking his girlfriend to marry him.  Me and his Dad are bring the ring and getting it to him right after we find him.  Hope she says yes for I love her too.

  • CaptainFatso

AMD.. Unfortunately, some kids stand a watch during those calls. What's key to remember, is that you will get a call IF his graduation date changes. In other words, unless he calls to say otherwise, HE IS graduating Friday.

As for my kid from 098, she made NO mention of anyone not passing.

  • eyeronics

AMD's mom- Sorry to hear that you never got your call but like CaptainFatso said.. No news is still good news!

NukeMom- SO happy for you! I hope everything goes well with your son :) :)

  • eyeronics

Wondering if anyone would know the answer to this question... If my sailor isn't flying out until Sunday and I get to spend all day Saturday with him... What time do I get to pick him up on Saturday?

  • eyeronics

Just read somewhere that it was 7:30 am..

  • dawny64

AMD my Sailor said everyone from the division passed that went through BS and you woild have heard if he wasn't  going to be taken the test. Hey maybe he was loading upon snacks because my Sailor cut our call short when he seen them walk by lol!

  • alismz

...so anybody got any tears left for a lil' story? My father-in-law, not much of a church go-er, has many opinions and generally has no trouble sharing all of them...but when it comes to his days as a MARINE, its all hush hush. Last November his six kids read an article that our local paper had wrote in honor of the Vets and learned a wee bit about their fathers' experience via the paper. Our kids were thrilled to read about "grandpa t."

Last night "grandpa t." called my husband to stop by to pick up a small gift for our SAILOR's graduation... he sat and told of the years & places this little book had traveled faithfully packed in his MARINE gear. With tears in my husbands eyes, grandpa t. handed him a small pocket sized black leather bound New Testament bible he had received from a sunday school teacher as a child.

The bible had never been mentioned before... I think he waited a whole generation for one of his flesh & blood to serve their country...and make him the proudest man with no words to describe his pride, just a simple gesture from his heart!

  • Caryn321

Oh dang alismz as JLo would say I just got goosies - what an amazing stoy! Thanks for sharing!
  • Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons

Congrats to all the new Sailors, so so exciting, AMD'sMom he could still call this evening or tomorrow. Hopefully you will get that call soon :-)

alisma, that is an awesome story. I bet he is one very proud grandfather :-)

  • diannep

    alismz:......sigh....and sniff.....what a wonderful story!

AMD'sMom;  Hmmmm.....strange that he didn't call yesterday or today...but sometimes it happens.  I have heard of some who never did get the I'm a Sailor call, but their sailors were at PIR.  You may want to try and call the Public Affairs Office tomorrow and see if they have him on the graduation list.  Sometimes you get someone nice there who will help; sometimes not.  But it may be worth a try!  847-688-2405
