This group is for the loved ones of the future Sailors of PIR 03/30/2012!
From your Group Creator proudmama:
I know we are all looking forward to graduation, and very excited to finally watch our children and or family members become an Official United States, Navy Sailor. Until then, lets all share our experiences with each other. Our experiences today will help other other new moms and or family members in the future. So lets set a good example, so that our SRs too can be proud of us. I look forward to this journey with each and everyone of you. God bless you and all the SR's

reno: Is that your sailor's last name too? If so, you will need to delete your post. Message eyeronics with your name in that case. N4Moms site cannot have sailors' last names on it for OPSEC reasons. Thanks! If not your sailor's last name, not a problem!

I was on the same plane this AM as Joan Rivers coming back to NYC. My Husband "Grandpa" mentioned the pic of some of the guys in his Div w/Ms. Rivers. How fun! Really enjoyed PIR ceremonies and the time I got to spend with my new Sailor! Congrats and Godspeed to all our new Sailors!

sjtina, I didnt even think to ask my son and he didnt say either way if he knew Joan Rivers. I just assumed he did lol. He said she was passing out money to the sailors like they were strippers. She is a nut! The boys seemed to have fun with the whole thing. I'm just so glad I can finally keep in touch with my son!!

And the adventure continues...
My daughter was with a sizable group waiting for her flight to Pensacola. One the new sailors saw a man with gold on his sleeves and rendered a salute while wishing him a good morning.
It turns out that the recipient of the salute was not a military officer, but an airline pilot.

Funny, while I was walking through the airport with my son Sat. we passed a pilot who said hello. After he passed my son panicked for a minute and asked me if that was an officer or a pilot. He was afraid it was someone he should have saluted and didn't. Also at the airport a lady came up to him and told him thank you for serving. I thought that was great! He said the sailors got to board the plane first and everyone clapped for them after they were on board:)

When my family went to chicago for bootcamp graduation there were 9 of us..we rented one of those big white vans that had big rows of comfy seats and we drove around and talked and laughed with our new United States Navy Sailor...we stopped to eat but we all just enjoyed the time together...PRICELESS...before he got out of the car we all told him one by one what we felt in our hearts for him...sounds corny but it was awesome...to do nothing but spend the time we had with him TOGETHER...Will remember it as one of the BEST MOST PRECIOUS TIME of my life...We couldnt go with him to the airport the next day because the airforce were picking up the few that were going to sub school and they didnt want the families all saying goodbye there again...so we said goodbye that evening after driving around...then we went into the navy store and we bought lots of navy stuff...my coffee never tasted so good ...i love my navy mom mug...starts my day off just right!! he has a phone now and hes getting liberities little by little so soon we will be able to go visit him as we only live about 3 hrs away from where he is stationed..he is in class studying hard and doing watches and he is having fun too...was supposed to go to the mall and i hear he was going to a pub...I am so happy for him and so proud I pray for him constantly ...Just want to say thank you to all those on here who helped me along the way in bootcamp...

peggyproudnavymom - please know that in no way sounds corny! My son our new sailor, his father, and I didn't have a lot of time to spend so we also went out to eat then spent the remaining time in the hotel room just talking and relaxing. My son said "Mom why do you keep staring at me" I said, "Son I didn't realize how much I missed until now." I also want to thank people on this site who help me through boot camp!

A quick update... My daughter is passing all of her courses in A school. She'll be an IT soon enough. In any case, she's having the time of her life... no tatoos yet.. THANK GOD.
So much so that I think I want to be a sailor when I grow up. In fact, I got to be a sailor again not too long ago. My company sent me to China. It was a hoot. I blogged about it here

Hello all, glad to hear that most if not all of our Sailors are progressing well! My Sailor is also going over to Japan in a few months. He starts C School in JAX in a few weeks and then off to Japan, then Guam! I am so happy for him but a nervous, emotional disaster for me! Oh and he is all tattooed up now......wrong move, but mom knows nothing!! I wish everyone well and be safe.
