So excited to see that countdown clock in the single digits!

  • Jstbear

@bunchesomom. My son will graduate on June 6th. He hasn't shared with us yet what he'll be training for in A school
  • NevadaMom Ship 11 Div 194

hi Jst bear. look at the papers that came in the box, it says his job and you can figure out his school. My SR knew way before she left for BC where her A and C school were going to be which helped us plan a lot of things ahead

  • RachelL (Ship13_Div196)

Just a little over a week left, yay!! I can't wait for PIR :)  I just wanted to share this gift idea. My friend's dad just opened this Etsy shop with these awesome bolt action pens that are ideal for boot camp graduation gifts!! I ordered this one with Navy colors and gun metal finish. I think my sailor is going to love it!! Here is the link if you're interested: https://www.etsy.com/listing/190188026/bolt-action-cartridge-pen-in...

I wonder if Division 189 has done their Battlestations test, or if their doing soon.  When my son called me last Saturday, he said that he'd call me this Friday (tomorrow) around 2p, so I'm assuming that's supposed to be the call their going to make to let us know their Sailors. That's just an assumption, but I'm anxious to talk to him again, so keeping fingers & toes crossed he does call tomorrow.

  • Robbin C

My son is in the same division.  He had thought they were doing it on Tuesday, but haven't heard anything yet, so I'm assuming they haven't.  Keep our fingers crossed and so looking forward to next Friday

Today is the day for the "I'm a sailor" call. I pray all of our SR's did well last night!
  • diannep

Yes, we think that 189-192 may have gone through last night.  Not sure about 191/192, but maybe!  Phones close this afternoon.  Calls can come in after 2 pm Central time!

  • diannep

RobbinC:  189/190 will start off BattleStations for this group, so I really think they went through last night.

  • ProudNavySupporter S3 DIV190

    189/190 did BS last night!

    Happy Friday!!

Got my "I'm a Sailor" call. Couldn't be more proud and excited for my husband. Can't wait to see him. T-Minus 6 days left!

  • diannep

Mum:  195/196 won't do BattleStations until early next week.

Captains Cup for this PIR group tomorrow morning.  Fun athletic competition for all of them!

  • diannep

Congrats to the new sailors of 189-192!

  • Navajosunshine39

My son called this afternoon, 12p Arizona time, and it was the "I'm a sailor" call. Words just can't explain how proud I am of him, after all he's been through with his knee injury.  He healed, and he finished boot camp, and now he's onto his next chapter of Navy life. I can't wait to see him too, and meet his new friends. He did say he hadn't slept since yesterday morning, but they'd get to go to bed early tonight. He was excited about getting access to an area where they weren't before, where they sell candies and other junk food-type, and I thought that was hilarious. But he's excited about next Friday, and so am I. I hope to meet some of you too. Congratulations to all our US Navy sailors!

  • Mum

Diannep:  thanks for the info and how do you find out these things?  My son hasn't called since week ago Wednesday.  It's good to know what he will be doing tomorrow this coming week.  And yes, congrats to all who are now Moms of Sailors!

  • CatMom509

    Mum,

Lovely diannep has been helping on these PIR groups for the last 4 years at least!!  She finds out Battlestation dates partly from the moms sharing what their SR's write to them via private message and partly from educated guessing based on the Navy's past practices!!  She's very good at all the info she gives!!

    She's super sweet too!!  :D

  • CatMom509

    Navajosunshine39,

Now that's just the greatest that after his injury and healing, he gets to walk into the previously "forbidden" area of the NEX and indulge!!  Hope he exercises some self-control too and not give himself a tummy ache~~  :)

  • diannep

Mum:  I have been keeping track of BattleStations dates since early in 2010 (dates given to me by you all!)---and there is a pattern to them.  I stayed on these groups after my son's PIR to help and would start posting schedules of BattleStations dates.  Then, RTC decided that they didn't want us to do that, until after completion by a division.  They want BattleStations to be "practice" for you for deployment, where no details of their deployment (including dates) can be disclosed until after the fact.  So now, I post a schedule in the BattleStations discussion above after a division completes them.  Read through the BattleStations discussion posted above in the Forum and you will get lots of info!

Captains Cup for a PIR group is always held the Saturday before their PIR.

After helping on these groups for over 4 yrs now, I have learned lots during that time!

  • diannep

Awww.....thanks for the kind compliment, CatMom!  Ditto with all of the help you give the ladies too!  So....right back atcha!  :-)

    Good Morning All !

  • diannep

Navajo:  SO proud of him for pushing through with that knee injury and becoming a sailor!

  • NevadaMom Ship 11 Div 194

Looking forward to PIR 6/6. Can't wait to see my Sailor Daughter.

  • jchestnut

I'm still waiting to hear from my son!...  :( :(

Anyone having trouble retrieving gate pass?  I updated adobe reader, but can't access website.

  • CatMom509

    Lag,

When you do get the link up--sorry, I don't have it, please make sure you type the password all in capital letters~~

    Hello!

and renew a steadfast spirit in me."

  • ProudNavySupporter S3 DIV190

Lag- we had problems as well. All morning we tried. We couldn't get the link to open. We finally got it after a few dozen tries over a few hours.
  • Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons

you are getting so close to PIR you can almost feel the breeze from the Chicago winds :)

  • Navajosunshine39

CatMom509 & diannep, thank you both for the encouraging words from the beginning.  When I was part of the first group, before my son was injured, you both said encouraging things. And now, as part of this group with my son finishing with Division 189, it's wonderful to be here again among more great people, with you two helping us along with the wonderful info and encouraging words for us.  Thank you, God bless you both, and God bless everyone else here :)

  • CatMom509

(((Navajosunshine39)))  HUGS!!  Just so happy for your Sailor and you!!!

  • mimi0522♡Ship3~Division190

    @Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons
Can you check your email. I sent u a message yesterday about not receiving the 3 ribbons I ordered. The PIR is this Friday. I leave on Wednesday. Thanks.
  • Lag

Proud Navy Supporter,  We also tried for hours, and still couldn't get the pass.  We finally had to pull the link up on our phone, and could get in that way.  Had to email the pass to our self.  What a headache.  Thanks.

LaLa, We also ordered two Ribbons, and have not received them.  The graduation is this Friday, and we leave Thursday.  Thanks.

  • diannep

Lag:  Make sure you message Lala directly too.  She is very good about mailing the ribbons out on time, and wants to know when any are missing.  She is leaving town today, but will be "working" while on her trip so will keep the ribbons going.  So message her either from her page here or on her website.  I'm sure she will get back to you.

    Good Morning Everyone!

  • diannep

mimi:  Hoping that Lala gets back to you today also, I'm sure she will.

  • diannep

Navajo:  You are very welcome!  That is what we are here for!

  • CatMom509

    Good Morning!

         "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended;

but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are

behind and reaching forward to those things which

are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of

the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

  • mrsrds2012

    Melissa,

It is against the rules to post the name of your SR. So I would suggest removing her last name from the post. As far as I know, they are only allowed to wear the boots they are issued. Challenge Coins are given out at PIR - and it might be a cool gift coming from you. Just a thought.

  • melissa

Thank you mrsrds2012! I'll delete the comment right now, since I'm not sure how to edit it
  • mrsrds2012

If you're a part of the 6/6 FB Group - she posted pictures of the ribbons she is sending out. She has reassured everyone that they will receive their ribbons sometime early next week.
