ALUMNI OF PIR 09/11/2015 TG 44 - 13 Divisions (299-308, 817-818 and 944)

In order to only have 3 guests allowed, this PIR group would have to have 13 divisions or more.  Yes, it happens, and usually about this time of year, but we really don't have 13 divisions in a PIR group too often.  So---- hoping that no more than 12 for you all so you can have your 4 guests!

It could take up to 2 weeks after arrival at Boot Camp for a Form Letter to arrive, so please rest easy.....the Navy is teaching us Navy families patience!  :)

Looks like there will be 13 divisions in this group which means just 3 guests per sailor.....sorry about that.  However, your extra person can stay at the hotel and watch the Livestream of the PIR service...many hotels stream it in a pubic area for everyone to watch.  You can then meet up with your sailor/family members and celebrate!  So please take those extras on the trip with you!

just got info from recruiter that my son is on ship 012 division 303 pir date 9/11, i will wait to get the form letter though to make sure, excited to have an address though, lol,he shipped on 7/15 cant wait to hear from him!

Just a point of interest for you all.  If anyone is using your SR's last name as part of your screen name....please change it.  If someone is using their last name, but it isn't their SR's last name, no problem.  This site prohibits last names of sailors being exposed on here.  First names are allowed....

I have to say congratulations to whomever decided to put this website together, as well as the PIR groups. While I am not having a tough time with my daughter being in boot camp, I see some of the moms are having a tough time. Conversations, camaraderie, and the ability to get your questions answered from those who have gone through your frustrations, is very vital. I'm happy to make acquaintance with each of you, and hopefully get a chance to meet on PIR day.

I haven't received it as it, but that will be nice.

There will be divisions discussions opened in this group in a couple of days. When you get your form letters, I am expecting an influx to arrive in the next few days, post the ship number and division. That helps me get the discussions up and running.

MrsG:  You an thank the Navy for starting this website back in March 2008!  For the benefit of families with SRs at Bootcamp.  You can thank ellen for starting the PIR groups!  She ROCKS!  :-)

Brooke:  Sadly, no on active duty being allowed in as extras at PIR.  Long ago, active duty and retired military could come to PIR and not have to be on the guest lists.  But now....everyone must be on it.

There is nothing wrong with posting a division number here, but posting last names is.

The 800 divisions do need to be a little more "closed" on what is posted, but posting division numbers of all your recruits is just  fine.

i too am waiting for form letter, I know my sons ship is 012 and division 303 because I got it from his recruiter yesterday, would still like the confirmation from the form letter, and yes the 3 guest only will be a bummer, Im so excited for my son though, we have been thru so much, he is my youngest, his dad passed away 3 years ago this July, as you can imagine its been very tough. My husband was sick for a couple of years, he was very close to his dad. I feel that with my son making such a big step forward, its a big step forward for me as well, very excited for his future!

I couldn't be more excited, my SR called today because she needed some addresses for her clearance application!  She sounded great.  :)  She shipped on 07/15.  I haven't received the form letter yet, but I did get her address from her recruiter.  When we talked today, she confirmed she is in Ship 12 Div 304 and will graduate on 9/11.  What a great day.  :)

Is there anyone who has a SR in ship 12 div 302?

My son is Ship 06 Div 300.  Rate of an EO.  Just received a form letter from him yesterday.  Of course that was about 20 minutes after I emailed his recruiter wondering where his contact information was!

Bugandboos our boys are on the same "ship" and division.  Mine is going to Fort Leonard Wood after PIR

maghirsch: My heart goes out to you and your son in losing your husband/his father.  We had the same situation when my sailor son was just 15 and his older brother 17.  So hard to lose their daddies.....I hope your son can feel his daddy's pride for him joining the Navy to serve his country!    I know my hubby/my boys' father would have been so proud....
