  • CatMom509

    tristansmom,

Your Form Letter shoulld have the PIR date on it somewhere, but based on other SRs' divisions on here, I would say that Division 305 is part of this PIR group~~ Welcome!!

  • Plupi

My SR is Ship 13 Div 305

  • tristansmom

Thank you for the welcome! What exactly is the fight group? Makes me nervous...lol.

  • diannep

Ahhh, that ellen....right group, fight group....all the same to her!

  • ellen0502

OMG I tried to fix that three times. It should say RIGHT group

  • CatMom509

    Lol!!  ellen0502 & diannep!!

  • diannep

Oh, yeah, sure, ellen...yep, we hear ya!  I kinda like FIGHT group!  :-)

    Good Morning All !

  • Brandi

I'm reading about the meet & greets. Are kids allowed to any of them? I would love to meet the moms here, I feel like I know a few already in 2 weeks!

  • tristansmom

    Thank you!

  • MrsG

After staying home all weekend doing nothing much, but keeping my phone glued to me in hopes of "the call", none came. So today is a long day and I'm physically drained from the wasted mental anxiety.
  • Lea Carlies Mom

mrsG. I feel the same way!
  • tristansmom

I know how you feel MrsG. I was at work without reception on my phone and worried that I might have missed it. No call or message and I still haven't received his form letter. Fingers crossed I get that today! I hope your day gets better and it gets easier on all the ladies here (including me)!

  • Lea Carlies Mom

Carlie's NC1 that we talked to a lot before leaving Boot Camp said calls won't be made earlier than 3 weeks out. She said its netter to help us and our kiddos adapt. It would make us sad all over again if we heard from them to soon. It also indicates that they are doing well to not hear anything this soon. I hope this helps bring a brighter side to no phone calls
  • Lea Carlies Mom

    Better I meant
  • maghirsch

my son was also told no calls for 3 weeks, and ive read a couple of timelines of mothers and their SRs called 20 to 21 days after leaving for boot camp, as said before no news is good news in this circumstance

  • Tiggercubs

UGGG.  I just wish he would call.  I agree with Mrs. G and the rest of the Mom's.  Exhausted from the anticipation of the phone call.  I know, no news is good news.... but I just need that first call.......then I will be ok.  Saying prayers!

  • diannep

Yes, kids are welcome at the MeetandGreet.  Sarge's is at the Sundance Saloon, but no worries, it is closed to the public during this.  Bring everyone!

Lea:  Even though the SRs are told that they won't get to call again for 3 weeks after the I'm a Sailor call, most get to call before then.  Just depends, so keep the phone close!

  • MrsG

The importance of this group is even more evident now. The support and guidance we provide to each other is beyond helpful. Thank you all! As I pray for endurance for myself, without a doubt each of you will be included. Whoever said being a mother was easy. Today is day 14 since my SR arrived, so I will rest easy for another week, and not be too anxious for that call.
  • MrsG

I'm going to stop taking the NYC subway until I get that call. I will be devasted if I miss it due to me being underground.
  • MrsG

Mimifabs, I anticipate you will get your form letter by the end of this week. I got mine on Thursday and my SR left on 07/14.
  • MrsG

Mimifabs, I sent you a friend request.
  • ellen0502

Navymom, Unfortunately no. There are thirteen divisions in the TG, so only 3 guests allowed at PIR.

  • pmmom

I have a question about PIR and the 3 guests. If I have more than the 3 will I be able to get the other 2 people on base to watch on a TV maybe from another building?  Or is it only 3 people on base period?

  • Brandi

So relieved to hear that kids can go to Sarge's Meet and greet! My daughter really misses her big brother and want to go too! I'm glad I'm not the only one with my phone glued to me! I feel like the guy in the commercial constantly checking for bars on my phone!
  • Anna

My fiancé left on the 20th. I got his box on the 24th and now I got his form letter today ship 13 div 306. I cried seeing his handwriting I can't wait to get his letters.
  • kvonavymom(Kellie)

Finally got the letter!!! SHIP 13 DIV 305

  • MrsG

Congratulations to all who have received comforting news!
I wonder where all the ship 12 div 301 moms are?
  • poppersmom

MrsG i was the same way waiting and waiting it's been to long weeks with hearing my sons voice it's terrible but his bestfriend was over this weekend out on leave and he told me they usually can make calls around the 3rd week of boot camp but just in case my phone is right by my side because he said because it's been two weeks that's a good thing it means he's doing good because the 1st 2 weeks are the hardest at boot camp.
  • MrsG

Very comforting poppersmom, thank you. This phone is not leaving my side. It's so funny I've always said that I do not need to take my phone everywhere I go, and I will never run to answer my phone. Never knew the day will come when I will do not one but both.
The future is so unknown to us, never say never!
  • poppersmom

I completely understand I always turn my ringer off at work and at home at night but o haven't shut it off for the past two weeks so yes your right never say never lol! I hope we get our calls so all of us!!
  • MrsG

I do the same at work, but definitely not now. I'm taking a summer class in the evenings, I told the professor about the call. I also said, "I will respect you and everyone in the class so I will keep my phone on vibrate, but if you see me run out like a madwoman, it's that call". He said "I understand". Didn't realize I don't care if he understands, he was getting fair warning. Lol
  • HooyahWife

Just got my letter and couldn't be more excited!! My husband is div 306
  • HooyahWife

Anna and mimifabs, my husband is in the same ship and division as your fiancé and son! There is something so comforting about knowing this and and that I'm not the only one out there :)
  • Brandi

Does Navy Lodge show graduation for family members that have to stay behind b/c of the 3 person limit?
  • MrsG

    Congratulations HooyahWife!
Chrus' Mom, I read on their website that they do. And someone mentioned on a previous occasion in some of the nearby hotels they do too
  • MrsG

    Sorry Chris' Mom
  • ellen0502

Most hotels in the area, have PIR streaming in the hotel. Some in the lobby some in a conference room. The Navy Lodge has a wonderful sitting area for viewing the ceremony.

As always, we recommend that any extras that are not on the guest list remain at the hotel. The RTC says there is not a designated area for extras to view the ceremony, but the chapel has been used on occasion for that purpose.

It is totally up the the RTC as to whether or not the chapel will be used that day. If you have extra guests, and the chapel happens to not be available, those extras must leave base.

  • ellen0502

  • Anna

HooyahWife: there is something comforting about it. We're all in this together supporting all of them. I miss him so much I'm so bored without him.
  • diannep

pmmom: With such a large PIR group, it is quite possible that they are reserving the Chapel, where they stream the Livestream, for overflow from the PIR Hall rather than for extras.  That is what happened in an earlier PIR group of 13 divisions.  If you want your two extras to try and get in the Chapel (there is no way they will be allowed in PIR Hall), then be sure to have return transportation available for them back to the hotel in case they are denied entry for this reason.

  • HooyahWife

Anna, I bet! Nights are the hardest aren't they? Our baby keeps me busy all day but once night time roles around, I dread it!
  • pmmom

Thank you diannep for answering my question.  Trying to navigate through all the info out there and figure this out can be a little daunting to say the least! I'm missing my son very much right now and trying to plan for the day I get to see him again.

  • Brandi

Pmmom, I know how you feel. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since i've seen my SR. Thank goodness I found these awesome moms, wives, fiances. I have to stay busy or I'm a wreck. Flight and hotel is booked, now I'm researching local restaurants that he may like. We bought stuff to work on our door decorations. Anything to keep busy! Sending hugs.
  • Anna

HooyahWife: night are always the loneliest! I always feel empty when I'm trying to sleep but each day is getting a little better but I still don't sleep much :(
  • pmmom

Chris' Mom.  Thank you for your hugs, they are greatly appreciated.  Thursday will be my 2 week mark for my SR.  Staying busy helps but it's still really hard.  Hopefully, it will get easier each day!  Try to keep a smile on your face, we will get to see them soon :)

  • Jewelz

Who all has a SR in Div 299?  Our son is in there.  :)

  • Minonkgirl

Jewelz our son is in division 299. What ship? He is ship 06.

  • ellen0502

I will be posting division discussion groups soon, probably when most, if not all of you are sleeping. Hang tight they are coming.  LOL
