I just got a phone call from my SR! It sure was awesome to hear his voice! I asked him if he liked the food and he said he was okay! :)

  • MrsG

What division is your SR in JBStyle?
  • MrsG

Congratulations! Glad to know he's doing good.
  • Brandi

I got a call! He sounds good, not great. Said he missed us and it's hasn't been quite what he expected. I'm so happy to hear from him!
  • HooyahWife

JBstyle and Chris'mom, so happy for you guys! My husband said him and all the guys countdown the meals until they are back with their family. I just thought that was the sweetest!
  • Shelley

Congrats to the Moms that have received calls - My phone is not leaving my side - praying mine will come soon!!!

  • pmmom

I got my call today as well.  He sounds pretty good, misses home and the toilet paper!  Ha,ha.  It was great to hear from him.

  • maghirsch

got my letter today, yes! Next phone call, any calls from ship 12 div 303 yet? My son sounded better than I expected

  • Brandi

Shelly, I hope you get yours today! His call was the highlight since he left. He said a bunch of people stood at the moment of truth, not seen again and a bunch have dropped from his division. He likes that I've kept him up on news stories and said he feels really cut off. I photocopied pics to look like part of the letter and he liked those too. Ugg, 43 days until PIR!
  • goodgirls3

so glad for those of you who have received phone calls!

My Daughter shipped out from Columbus Oh on July 14th her Graduation date is also 911 and she is shift 12 division 302 I did take a last-minute picture of her and a few other sailors who were about to get their tickets she was the only girl in the group is it OK to post that picture just in case someone on here is the parent of one of the other sailors ?
  • Lea Carlies Mom

Oh please do post the pic! My daughter is with yours

  • MrsG

It was suggested not to show pictures and use your SR's name, for security reasons.
  • ellen0502

Here is the story about posting pics of your recruits in BC. First is PERSEC, sharing personal information. The info on OPSEC and PERSEC is posted above with a link.

To add to that believe it or not the RDCs have been known to read these pages. Do you want the RDC to easily know who you are talking about on here, or see that picture?  A little "ammo" for BC can bring great joy to your recruits day. LOL

None of you are saying anything, or have said too much on this site to worry about, and if you accidentally do...we have ways to make it disappear pretty fast. :)

  • My baby boy is now a man

If your SR is in the PACT program at Great Lakes, where do they go after PIR?

  • Lu

Thank you for all the prayers, it looks like my son is headed home with his shoulder injury. Before I go, I want you all to know I'm praying for all of your SR's continued success in boot camp and their Navy careers after boot. I'm also praying for all the moms, wives, fiancés, and girlfriends for peace, strength, and joy.
  • jayzmom

Thanks Lu, Thanks for your prayers and prayers for your sons safe return home.

  • diannep

Blessings to your SR, Lu, and hoping for healing and possible re-enlistment at a later date!

    Good Morning All !

My baby boy...:   Those attending GL A School move over there shortly after PIR as a group.  You will pick him up a few hours later at that base, which is close to RTC.  You will have daytime Liberty through the weekend with him, until about 8 or 9 pm each night when he returns to base.  So book your travel plans accordingly!

  • MrsG

Thank you Lu! I pray healing upon you son, strong enough to re-enlist and make his dreams come through. Blessings to you and your family!
  • MrsG

    Friday #3 for my SR!
I only need to find affordable accommodations now. Navy Lodge is fully booked.
  • diannep

MrsG:  Keep calling back Navy Lodge....they get cancellations....just happened in today's PIR group when a SR got setback in training.  So don't check online, just keep calling back...in the meantime, book another hotel just in case....cancellation is usually no problem...suggestions are Courtyard, Springhill Suites, Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Express...call directly and ask for the Navy Graduation discount.  These are all closet to Sarge's MeetandGreet and 4-5 miles from RTC.

  • diannep

    *close not closet!

  • diannep

MoNavyMom:  Usually the day after PIR, but occasionally some do not fly out until Sunday.  They won't know their travel plans until right before PIR.

  • MrsG

Thanks for the encouragement and advice diannep. I've been calling everyday. I called the 800# this morning, their lines were jammed, so they had me call the front desk directly, was told they we booked. I will call again later, but look into the places which you've suggested.
  • diannep

Continue to call just the front desk, MrsG.  I think that is the best way to reach them...remember that Thurs-Sun, they normally are pretty busy each week because of Fri PIRs so you may want to try and reach them later Sunday through Wed!

  • jayzmom

Has anyone gotten their form letters ?

  • Shelley

My form letter came last week.

  • MrsG

I keep telling you Diannep you are a source of information. Know that you are appreciated. I'll try when I get home later. Thanks once more.
  • MrsG

    I have a question please.
When we go to PIR do we take them civilian clothing? I was thinking of taking her laptop, cell phone and a suitcase of clothing. Too much?
  • CatMom509

    Happy Friday!!

"Now thanks be to God who always

leads us in triumph in Christ, and

           through us diffuses the fragrance

of His knowledge in every place."

                                    II Corinthians 2:14

  • CatMom509

    MrsG,

You can take her cell phone, cell phone charger, laptop, a/c adapter, own comfy bras and underwear (bring a selection for her to choose), some civilian wear, but not too much, because she needs to be able to stuff them into her seabag and Navy backpack.  She can't have any additional luggage as she will already have a 50 lb seabag, garment bag with her uniforms, the Navy backpack, and has to be able to carry her cover (hat) and paperwork in her hands.  She has to be able to carry everything by herself with no help either~~

Anything else you will have to ship to her A school when she provides you with an address~~ We used the free Large Priority Flat Rate boxes that have a weight limit of 70 lbs each and you get discounted postage when you print out the label yourself at home from www.usps.com .

If her A school is at Great Lakes, not sure if you can give her more since she is not flying~~

  • MrsG

Thank you CatMom509, very valuable information. She will be flying out to Mississippi.
  • diannep

Those staying in A School in GL can have more items since they are not flying so you can bring an extra suitcase of items for them.  They can take things over after each day of Liberty, if not the whole suitcase.

  • diannep

MrsG, you are very welcome.  We N4Moms veterans love helping on here!

  • CatMom509

    You're welcome, MrsG~~

  • CatMom509

    MrsG,

Oh, give all that stuff to your daughter at the airport when you meet her to see her off.  You need to give the stuff to her before her group checks in their baggage and gets their boarding passes from the ticketing counter, so please plan on being at the airport about 3:00 am or even before....

One more thing--bring a set of comfy clothes for your daughter to relax in the hotel room only after her long, private shower!!  :)

  • diannep

Good Morning!  Have a good Saturday!  Hope some phone calls come in today for you!

  • goodgirls3

CatMom509 - thank you so much for the daily scripture!  I look for it and it always makes me feel so much better.  I appreciate it!

  • CatMom509

    Hello Friends~

"O Lord, be gracious to us, we long for You.

Be our strength every morning, our salvation

          in time of distress."

                                                               Isaiah 33:2

  • CatMom509

    goodgirls3,

You're so welcome!  I love sharing the Lord's Word!!

  • MrsG

301 moms keep your phones close by, calls are coming in. Just got a call from my SR, and I know other moms have too.

  • Kathleen

My son is USS Triton, ship 12, division 303, PIR Sept 11th. I'm just dying to get that phone call!!
  • Kathleen

Just got a 2-minute call because other people took all the division's phone time :(
But he's doing great and still loves it! ❤️❤️❤️
  • Dolo

My daughter also Triton 303 called today. She reached my older daughter fortunately as her dad & I were at the beach & she called while we were de-sanding. I did not go all the way in today as had my phone with me.
  • diannep

    Good Morning!

  • seaghost6

FYI, Re: hotels, Just booked the Lincolnshire Springhill Suite through priceline, $135 rack rate, reduced down to $58. Looks like twenty minute drive.
  • CatMom509

    Blessed Sunday!!

"Therefore, having been justified by faith

we have peace with God through our

           Lord Jesus Christ."

                                                     Romans 5:1

  • MamaBear97

Can anyone tell me what week/day of training div 944 is on please?
  • diannep

MamaBear:  I believe they are on 1-5 today (Training Week 1/Day 5).  Remember, Bootcamp Weeks are counted differently since they include Processing Days in the beginning and a few extra days after they finish BattleStations before PIR.  There are actually only 6 Training Weeks....

    Good Morning All !
