My Son did have a car, it was a good thing ... the base is far from everything and it's much safer for them to drive than walk to the beach and to town. Just remind him that a ticket for speeding or any infraction off base would get him kicked out of the CTN program. The program is so intense that when they do get a chance to have some fun they really do need it ... ps my Son did 2 years at Pearl after and now is at the Naval Academy ... CTN program is a great way to grow in the Navy !

His dad said something about the top percent getting Hawaii
As duty station so your son must have been in the top as well as being in Academy now
I'm wondering did he come in intending to go to NA?

My son is 18 but very mature
He wanted NA When he was 10-11 at sea cadet then it waned
I'm not sure how much he is aware that opportunities like your son had getting in NA are available out there for CTNs
I wonder who else did that who could share
