Sorry ladies that you haven't received a reply, Susie has been in the process of moving and Joan has the one page as well as the forum that she runs. It isn't a problem at all, just thought you may want to join an already established group. There are many avenues to keep connected as we Navy moms are in this together. Welcome to all!
  • QuintinsMom

I totaly agree Sharon,  if we Navy Mom's work together to support each other only good can come of it.  I did request again to join the group and look forward to meeing more Navy Moms.

  • ladyayp

Qiintins mom, I tried joining the Sailors mom facebook page, however an error showed up. I would love to meet or talk to other navy moms. I live in the state Of georgia.

  • Sharon ~ K's Mom

Welcome to all the new moms!! There are quite a few groups here as well as on Faebook. You can access them and join as you would like. Quintinsmom just started a new one, you are welcome to join that one and as many others as you would like. We truly need to support and encourage each other on this journey we are now on. Thanks Quintinsmom!!!!

If any of you are "Cake Poppers" I have the perfect site for you on FB. It is only for info and resources to "cake pops" even if you do other things. I do chocolates, having owned a retail chocolate shoppe in the past, I have done cakes as well in the past. Now, I am doing Thanksgiving and Christmas Chocolates as well as "Cake Pops" and loving it. There are people from around the world in this group, it is a closed group so you have to ask to join. Once there, you too will become addicted like the rest of us. It really helps when you have others helping support, encourage you in your daily world, whether it is being a Navy mom or a Cake Popper!!!!!

  • Kimberly

Great news about Mollys Adopt A Sailor. Everyone have a safe and happy Thanksgiving
  • ProudNavyMom

I'm a happy mom! Got to talk to my SR twice today!!!! It has been a great Thanksgiving. The only thing that would make it better was if I was able to see him in person. But that will come in one more week when I see him at PIR!!!!
  • icalldoovers

What an amazing Thanksgiving!!! Talked to my SR a lot today, the kids were even on facebook posting pics! They look wonderful and it sounded like they also had a great Thanksgiving. God bless those that adopted our kids!!!! Heard they had a police escort and were on the news!
  • ProudNavyMom

I was able to talk to my son 3 times and he texted me a pic that someone took of him on their cell phone!!  What a blessed Thanksgiving it was!!!  Only 7 more days to PIR!!!  woo hoo!!!

  • Suzi-OH

Someone had a cell phone at BC??? Better hope it wasn't someone else going through BC.
  • Suzi-OH

Sharon - thanks for the info!!

    Diane - Awesome news!!!

  • ProudNavyMom

Suzi-OH - The SR's that PIR 12/2 and 12/16 were able to participate in the Thanksgiving adopt a sailor program yesterday and were taken off base to various community organizations that supplied them with food, games, computers, phones, etc for use while they were there.

  • Suzi-OH

I was sure there was something organized, but you know that somebody alwauys tries to pull a fast one. At my son's PIR girls in another division cost their whole div liberty cuz they got hair cuts..in another div it was coming in after curfew....also have heard of some being caught drinking PIR weekend and sneaking in cell phones. It's too easy to get the boot to risk it. Plus, kids got called in about things that were posted on-line by family members. Mine rarely posts pics and took his FB down while at SERE. Better safe than sorry, especially for those who hope to become officers.
  • ProudNavyMom

  • Marcy

Leese's mom, what division is she in? My nephew went about 2 weeks ago and is in 054. The funny thing is his birthday 5/4. I am not sure of his PIR. I know my sis told me but I can't remember.

How is everyone doing? I haven't been on this site for a good while. I have been busy with school and well the Christmas thing,LOL. I hope all is getting their Christmas list done and are all ready. I am. I just want to go shopping for the fun of it. Is anyone from California and watching the Steeler, and San Fran game? I am trying to watch it. Another power outage again. I am for the Steelers though. Good luck to both teams but of course I want Pittsburgh to win.

Congrat's to all the new Navy moms too. Welcome to the navy moms and we are all here for you.

Trena, I remember those days and yes like Diane said ask away. I am sure someone on here should be able to help.

Please take a look at my Patriot Collection of Warmers and other Warmers to enhance the beauty of your home. My sailor has a beautiful Navy Warmer in her barracks room. Please look at https://majesticfragrances.scentsy.us

  • Sharon ~ K's Mom

Marcia, I bought two of the Navy warmers and love it. I gave one to Diego and Kels for Christmas. I am amazed just how long the bricks of wax last. I am still on the first one and have been lighting it for over a month. I don't light it when I am doing chocolates, but still have used it alot. Love it!!!

  • QuintinsMom

  • SONJA

Yay  My son graduated from Navy Dive Camp yesterday at Great Lakes, ranked #1 great job! very proud of him, he worked very hard, had several setbacks and finally made it!  On to Panama City!

  • Sharon ~ K's Mom

Sonja, Congratulations to your son and you too!

Hoping all are.doing well! We have started the new year with some challenges, a friends son who is 15 years old and had a stroke. He has been in the hospital and and will be transfered to Rehab this coming week. The doctors can not get the smiles off their faces due to his amazing progress. He is doing good, and so many prayers have been lifted for him and family. Prayers are appreciated.
  • Marcy

Sonja, Congrat's to your son and you too. That is something to be proud of.

Sharon, Wow how young to have that happen to him. I will keep him and his family in my prayers. Good to hear he is doing so well too.  He is young though, so he has that going for him too.

Did any of you guys here about the young SR from RTC who passed away last Wed. morning. He was in bootcamp and he was doing PT and he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital and passed away. He was only 19 and from my area. I cant imaging how his parents feel but keep them in your hearts and prayers as well. He was to graduate next Friday. I did not know him or his parents but I do plan to go the funeral home too. Nothing has been planned as far as I know. I do believe he is still in GL for an autopsy to see what happened.

  • Victoria

Oh my gosh!!! I hope the navy medical is on point with the kids. That really flips me out.
  • Marcia Shea's Mom(Ship3, Div367)

My prayers go out to the family of the SR that passed away. Please continue to keep all the ARd and their families in prayer.

  • MzNavyMom

Hello to all the Navy Moms.

I'm looking to visit my son when he returns from deployment. Does anyone know of the lodging near the naval base in San Diego, His ship is USS Makin Island.
  • Mrs"C" Alex's Mom

What is the Navy's actual policy for mild anxiety? About a year ago my son began seen a therapist and was diagnosed with MILD ANXIETY. He was never prescribed medication, he only saw a therapist for about six months and then discharged due to improvement and was given a letter saying he no longer met the criteria and no longer suffered from the mild anxiety. Can the Navy deny him because he was at one point in his life diagnosed with the condition? Please help!!!
