No I was not hacked. I do have the Sailors name and until I have permission to put his name here I will not post it. I am very careful with what I post.
The family has given permission to get the word out about him any way we can. His name is Daniel Crossley. Anyone can go to your local blood bank and donate in his honor.
He is still basically the same. They did lower his BP meds last naught & his BP stayed steady so we were excited about that!!! He's expected to be in ICU for at least a month & then in hospital for 2-4 more months.
Hello to all members of this group. I haven't been on this web site since my sailor came home from his last deployment. He will be aboard the George Washington soon. Even though he is so far away, we are able to chat on facebook just about ever day. I'm going to miss that!
He's in surgery now. They are flushing out his insides. Everything has started hitting his momma very hard. Two other navy moms went to see her yesterday & she just sobbed. So sad.
He stable but still critical. Has a little bit of pneumonia but giving antibiotics to help with that. Mom is tired & weary but trying to stay strong for her boy.
cbc mom, I too am new to this group. My son's squadron is attached to the GW. Maybe the same squadron? David is an AZ.
I see you are from Norco. We have family there. I found, in another discussion group, a mom from my home town of Hemet. It is a small world indeed! Just doesn't seem small with our boys so far away.
Still keeping Sailor Crossley, and his family in my prayers!
Just got done chatting with him on Facebook. I get up at 4:30am, for him that's 6:30pm. His day is winding down as mine begins. But today, he didn't have much time for his old mother...he's headed out to watch a softball game.
My son's birthday is coming up in a couple of months and I'm looking for gift ideas. I know they are very limited on space on the ship but I really want to send him a gift he can open not just a gift card. I've heard of moms sending sheets. Are they really allowed to have sheets that are not Navy issue? If so, does a twin set fit their rack? Thanks for any suggestions!
Prayers going up for everyone in Oklahoma and for Sailor Crossley. God bless them all.
just looking at the squadrons facebook page. They were treated to a FANTASTIC luncheon hosted by the GW's food service crew. OMG!!! Ladies, rest assured, our boys (and girls, for those of you with daughters serving) will not go hungry!!!! David usually avoids the camera at these type of things but this time they got him! Lot's of pic for me to share!!
Must share with everyone here some poems I have written for my sailor boy ! Here's 1 He's Justin the sailor man
He's gone and he lives in Japan
Eats sushi not spinach
8 years to the finish
He's Justin the sailor man
TOOT TOOT!!!!!!!!!
I'm so proud of my son Tim, as he's been on the GDUB for less than 2 years and started out as an undesignated sailor to Petty Officer 3rd class last year and now moving up to Petty Officer 2nd Class!
My son is stationed in Atsugi and lives on the base. He is in a squadron (can I say which one?). He will be leaving in a few weeks on a deployment (his first). I am new to all of this so I'm looking for any words of encouragement and suggestions :)
David has aways scoffed at me when I talk about sending him a package, "I don't need anything..." . But I do want to send him one, I know he'll see others recieving stuff, and maybe he'd feel good getting one.
One thing I gave him at Christmas time was a Sudoku book. Just a simple little Sudoku book I'd picked up at Wal Mart right after he left A school. All summer I'd jot little notes to him in the pages. Notes about special events, dates, memories, like a little journal or diary. So, while he turns the pages and works the puzzles, theres another note from mom. I gave it to him just before he left to go back to San Diego, with the instructions to save it until he got to Japan. So, when he'd relax and scribble in a puzzle, he'd also get a note from mom. He admitted, some of the notes got him a little choked up! So, I've started another one. Made an entry last night about getting his good news.
Mrs. David's mom, what a great idea with the Suduko book. It is on my list, I often send him pages of puzzles...oh such fun. Maybe I will fill it with the quotes of his only niece. She was 4 months old when he went into the Navy....need I say more. :)
He had surgery this morning and they found out his spine is cracked in half & the dr is saying he will most likely never walk again. So very sad. Still very critical
You can go to the Navy Advancement Center's facebook page. They break it down by alphabetical listing of rates then break that down into 1st class, 2nd class, and 3rd class. E6 and above (chiefs) are listed separate.
So sorry to hear about the injured sailor. I have been following the comments for the past week or so and have prayed for his recovery. Miracles do still happen though (I am one).
Hello Dale! not too much longer and they will be on their way, to who knows where!
David was selected 'Sailor of the week' and is featured on their "Captain's Call" news cast video posted on the bases facebook page. I'm so happy right now!
Welcome Dale-Mom of Joey. My son has been in the Navy just under 3 years and he is at Atsugi (since March 2012) too! It is a great group to support one another.
Congratulation to all the Sailors who have advanced! Also congratulation to the parents who raised them. These are the times the joys and sorrows of raising our children make it all worth it!
I don't post often but I try to keep up with all that is going on with this group.
