Oh ok, that's what I thought! Very cool, you must be so proud. My SR is in 945, a performance division, so I was able to get a sneak peek of him when RTC posted pics of them performing at last Friday's PIR :)

Thank you very much! I sent him a special card today, hopefully it will get there on the exact day of our anniversary, 9/19...Im hoping I will have already received the "Im a Sailor" call by then so I can also say happy anniversary over the phone! we were both pretty disappointed that we wont be together that day! But two days isn't long to wait!

Hello Ladies! I know you are all excited to see your Sailors....Here is a list of things you should know when your Man is in Uniform: http://www.veteransunited.com/spouse/11-in-uniform-rules-every-mili...
Hope everyone enjoys PIR!

As far as that first "everyone is rushing down to greet their Sailor" moment, that's kind of like a homecoming, and they relax the rules for that. You're allowed to hug them and kiss them (within reason - no cleaning each others tonsils or hot ans heavy making out sort of kisses lol).
However, depending on who, exactly, is going to be at the PIR, and what sort of relationship and "time share" for lack of a better word - you have worked out for their liberty, what goes on in your room for part of that time is nobodies business.....

When my fiance is in uniform, our rule of thumb is to always act like his CO is watching when in public. You never know who is actually watching, whether you're on or off base.
And taracotta, it all depends on your SR's orders. Do you know where he's going after RTC?

"When he knew there weren't any Navy people around"... that's cute. He may think he can sopt the sailors by their haircuts, but female sailors are harder to spot in civvies. And yes, I have corrected sailors. The girls in Disneyland bathroom making their uniforms "cute". The guys in a diner with their ties loosened and sleeves rolled up (older uniforms). Three female petty officers and these guys were trying to impress us by saying they were learning how to "drive boats" and practiced on the lake. Uh-huh.
You really can't tell who is military and who is not. Just don't hold hands, okay?

Anndrya- yes the busy days are not so bad. i haven't had a day where i didn't cry yet, but everyday i am crying a little bit less each day. i probably sound like a big baby but i can't really control it at this point. haha. there is so much going on and i hate that i don't have him to lean on right now. my husband is a future mm. what is your fiance?

Anndrya- yes, that's when it is the hardest. for our cat too, she hates it that he's gone and i think she realizes how sad i am because she cuddles and falls asleep with me now. which she never used to do.

Anndrya, it is so hard. we both had jobs that we could constantly text each other so we always would, and then 5 weeks before he left he quit his job and we had spent so much time together, i knew it would be hard, and i know he didn't die, but going from that much to contact to none at all is killer.

There are a few rules during PIR that really should be followed. There have been cases of sailors out and about celebrating with family and got caught by superiors in civis. Do not risk this because the punishment could be loss of time out during PIR. It's not worth trying to get away with it I swear. And honestly, walking escort style was pretty sweet =), and my Sailor loved it (though he still held my hand when it was safe to do so at the hotel). And, one thing I found, not being able to do some stuff right off the bat as far as PDA goes just creates a buildup for when you get out of public eyes. I was with family so don't think too crazy here ladies ;) but the doors closed and we all were just hugging him long as we wanted, I kissed him a ton, held hands amidst a lot of laughter and fun. It's worth it to go along with the rules. They will tell you the PIR rules as soon as they learn them, but I researched it early on lol. You can kiss them when you see them at the ceremony but it needs to be clean. Clean like closed mouth kisses, pecks. When I first saw my sailor I couldn't not kiss him, but we kept it short simple and sweet, and it really meant so much just to be able to get that after not even seeing each other for so long.

I have a cat too and he was looking for him and meowing for like two weeks then he kinda did it less and less we cuddle every night and he is attacking my feet as I type this he is my best friend and I don't know how I would make it without him.LOL.

A little frustrated: It sucks that I can't be at my fiance's graduation from A-school tomorrow. No money to fly down, and couldn't get off work. :( Oh well. There will be other opportunities for me to be with him for other events.
