Those who shipped this past week will have PIR on either 05/19/2017 (those in Push Divisions who are in the last divisions of TG 28--mostly those who shipped on Monday or Tuesday) or on 05/26/2017. It is possible for some who arrive on the same date to have PIR a week apart. Wait on The Form Letter to know the PIR date for sure. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

  • MomL

Are there any AB moms on here?  I joined the AB group, but it has not had any activity in more than a year.  My son who is in BC right now will be an ABH.  His PIR is May 5th and he then goes to Pensacola for A school.  I would love to hear if others are joining him and what to expect with this career path.  Thanks!!

For those who have received The Form Letter for the 05/26/2017 PIR date, keep checking PIR: May 26, 2017 TG 29 and join when it is up.

I received a letter from my sister that's in week 3 of boot camp and she was wondering if I could send her some big band aids in a letter because of the blisters from her boots. I didn't know if that is allowed or not and I didn't want to do anything to get her into trouble. Does anyone know if you can do that or not?
  • Momma B

Hi all, my son leaves for boot camp on 5/18, best guesses or if you know for certain, what would be his graduation date be? Thank you!!

  • Mjh363

Hi Momma B.  Count 9 fridays from when he goes in.  So July 14th.  Unless he gets put into a push division which will then be one week early.  My son went in 2/27 and his PIR is 4/28

  • Mjh363

Sunshine I don't think that would be a problem.  Some people have sent moleskin to their recruits for that purpose.  It takes them a while to get their mail though.

  • Sunshine

    Mjh363 thank you so much!
  • lemonelephant

MommaB, as Mjh363 indicated, by counting 9 Fridays, PIR will most likely be 07/14/2017. It is very unlikely that PIR will be 07/07/2017 since he is shipping at the end of the week. That happens for those who ship at the beginning of the week, not those who ship at the end of the week. We are starting to get into storm season and your future Sailor is shipping close to summer when there is a large number of shippers and both of those sometimes result in a recruit being held over for the next TG and if that were to happen for your then recruit, then PIR would be 07/21/2017, but that is less likely than the 07/14/2017 date. It is possible for some who arrive on the same date to have PIR a week apart. Wait on The Form Letter to know the PIR date for sure. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will let you know what to expect.

Wyttigr - it is nine Fridays from the day your SR ships so in your case May 26th would be the most likely day for the PIR. But like others have said it's not for sure until you get that form letter

  • AnchoredAmbie

    Hope she is ok.

  • Momof1

Thank you for your help. I didn't know the #!
  • Mjh363

    My pleasure

  • Mjh363

I'm not sure they will be able to help. Can't hurt to try. Depends on the situation.  The recruit should've been able to call home if it's serious.  I hope its not and she's ok

  • Momof1

I agree. I pray your able to make contact with someone that can assist you.
  • Momof1

Oh my!! My prayers are with you!!
  • Oneproudmom

Prayer for your daughter Wyttigr! Hang in there!

  • ProudOfK

Wyttigr - I read your post a few minutes ago and I just had a thought so popped back on here.  I'm wondering if you can try to talk to your daughters recruiter - maybe he or she could get some additional information for you.  I wish you the best - I think I would be beside myself at this point.

  • Mjh363

The poor thing.  Of course she's freaked out.  And poor you.  So scary and frustrating to not be able to talk to her.  I hope she calls you soon and is ok.

  • carleys_nana

Wyttigr - will be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers; I'm sure you are as concerned as is she.  I'd be freaked out also and hope you will chat with her tomorrow!!!

  • MomL

Wyttigr, I am so sorry! I will be praying for both you and your daughter. I cannot imagine what you are going through. Take comfort in the fact that the Navy has some of the best doctors in the world. I hope you hear from her today.
  • Matthew'sMom

My son arrived at boot camp on Wednesday April 5th. It's been a rough and emotional week so far.
  • Jmom

Hi, I just joined this. My son went to Boot Camp on Thursday. I cleaned his room today and I'm feeling melancholy. I figure there might be a few others on here who feel like I do.

  • FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW

Wyttigr - Oh my! Good thoughts and prayers for your daughter.

  • Wimom

Sending prayers to your daughter and your family
  • ProudOfK

Matthew'sMon and JohnsmomKatrina - my son left Feb 275th so it's been I few weeks now but I understand just where you're at right now and so does pro ably everyone on this site. That first couple weeks I think is the very hardest before you have their form letter and are able to send letters. And if you're like me you just flat miss your son. I will tell you this site has helped me a lot.

  • ProudOfK

That's the 27th. This notepad I have takes real things I type and makes its own things up all the time. If I don't go back and double check everthing I may have something completely different than I typed.

  • Anti M

Wyttgir, depends on what week they are in, what can be made up.  Five days is nearly a full training week, so depending on the timing, they may be rolled back into a new division. If one of the days was a Sunday, that's only four days of training missed.  Hard to tell, she may stay with her original division.

I hope she is much improved, and that you get answers quickly.

  • dwp'smommy

Hi everyone, I just got my D's clothes back. It is quick coming back since they are coming fex ex.  Thanks to the mom that said look for phone in shoe it was there. So now its the two week wait for the letter from my understanding. Now all us new moms can do is continue to chat and support.

  • Jmom

Will they pull my son's wisdom teeth? I heard that today. He hasn't had any problems with them, and of course they're still there.

  • lisacon

They did my sons' and they were fine the family dentist told us right before he left. But I heard that is common because of situations my come up and no dentist around.

  • cjtizzy55

They pulled my SR's also...being proactive, I guess.
