Sorry ladies...  I got excited it was on clearance and didn’t realize it was available in only one size. When I ordered it they had xs to 3xl.

  • Katharine

Phoenixmom - no mail today and I have heard nothing yet. LadyBluefire gave me a tip that unfortunately, I will not be able to pursue until tomorrow. I am sitting in the clinic waiting for a doctor, so I can write messages, but not call.

I am getting my head checked. No ..... all of this has not put me over the edge ..... well actually it has, but this is a different type of doctor. I got a pretty good knock on the head and I am pretty sure I have a concussion, so just making sure nothing is terribly amiss. And getting a "get out chores" card. Thank goodness I was already a few days into a fast  .... all the new research shows that ketosis helps with head injuries.

  • Phoenixmom

Hi Katherine Hope you are doing better and I'm sure you will receive something shortly, stay positive! these letters tend to have a way of creeping up when you least expect it!

  • partyofseven

Katharine- Hope you are ok. When you get done, maybe take it easy for the rest of the day and rest.  :)

Hopefully the tip from LadyBluefire will work.

No news is good news. Keep being positive.

Shanny- No worries. It's still a nice shirt.

  • C'sMom

PhoenixMom:  Keeping you in my prayers.  And Amen to your prayer!

So I know what PFAs are, but what is a DEP test?  I tried to look it up.  Is it something to do with the Delayed Entry Program?

  • Kristel2400

@shanny.....that shirt is so cute I can’t believe it’s from Maurices - I love that store!!!! Not in my size but cute!! GREAT price.

  • Shanny

Kristen:  I only found it because it showed up in my FB feed!  Then I had to have it so I went to the store to get it but they were sold out. They ordered it for me so I wouldn’t have to pay shipping.   It’s really cute in person too. I just have issues with white shirts. I always get something in them

  • Kristel2400

@katharine.....you CRACKED ME UP with your post, “he better not wanna cry!” LOL You sound like your keepin it together. POSITIVE thinking.

@phoenix...oh no! I really hope everything is ok. I was worried you weren’t in but no worries. We’ve definitely gave you some reading material.

  • Kristel2400

This ones for the moms at home trying to help school your kids online...

  • LadyBluefire

Kristel - thanks, that's been me since 2008, lol. Thank God my husband works from home though, lol.
  • Kristel2400

@lady...  ohh my god. LOL Oh role reversal! Love it, good for you!

  • Anti M

Good evening.  Hey, my sprinklers are fixed!  The guy did a terrific job, and clean up nicely too.  Even though there is a ton of work to be done, I don't feel awful for once.  Nice to feel a tinge of positivity.

C'smom, an associate degree could put your SR at E-3.  The paperwork has to be done before they ship, his recruiter would know.

  • C'sMom

Anti M, yes, he did that.  He gave his transcripts to his recruiter.  I thought he was E3, but then I started to doubt myself, and thought maybe it was E2.

I believe today is his last P day.  So I'm hoping his FL is being mailed out!

  • LadyBluefire

Kristel, no role reversal. He works from home and I home schooled 5 kids. He was my sanity and rock.
  • partyofseven

I got to get off work an hour early and this girl here was doing the happy dance. I work in a after care program and pick up is at 6. I have 2 moms that forget the time a lot. It's the nature of the business.  So for them to be picked up before 4 I was like sweet. Lol I'll take it. It doesn't happen often.  :)

Hope everyone had a good day.

For our new moms, don't forget to come and post and let us know how you are doing. We all volunteer our time on here and help each other out.

Shanny- Any word today? Tomorrow is your day!! It is so exciting.

Anti M- Yay for fixed sprinklers. I am happy for you. Yes it is. I am glad things are starting to look up.

Kristel2400- I love it. I saw that on fb and I was cracking up. Yep that's us. Lol Any more word from your SR?

I've read so much it is hard to keep up sometimes. Lol

Katharine- Hope your home and resting and hope everything was ok.

Phoenixmom- Hope your day went well and that you didn't over do it. Big hugs.

  • Shanny

Partyofseven:  I am in my freak out moment. It looks as if some groups will walk in PIR before they even do BS. There are still 9 divisions that I know of that had not gone as of this afternoon.  I have been missing him extra today for some reason. Navy allergies are making my nose burn and my eyes water tonight. So I don’t know if it comes tomorrow or if I have to wait until Friday. I doubt he is shipping out Friday now

  • Chipmunk

Good Evening everyone!! I think I made it all the way through the posts! VintageGal - thanks for answering C'sMom2020  question.

C'sMom2020 - did you figure out where the main room chat is?

Does it show up easily on the phone for those of you using your mobile device? On my computer, at the bottom right it shows Members online and Main Room. If another member is online at the same time as you are, you can also start a Private chat with them.  Scroll over a members name (in the Member Online window) and move your mouse to the right where a drop down triangle shows up. It gives you three options - View Profile, Start Chat, Ignore.  If you click the Start Chat it opens up another window at the bottom of your screen where you can chat privately with another member. This is the only place that is completely private with no other traces, such as an email feed.

So this is your Navy4Mom101 lesson for today, I hope this was helpful.

Shanny, Yes, I think mine would chime at me every time there was a chat. I can't remember if I figured out a way to turn it off or not?  Keep hanging in there!!

Hugabugs, - I missed telling you that I was so happy to hear you had news from your SR!!!

Tomorrow is another busy day for me!

Phoenixmom - good to hear from you and your updates, you continue in my prayers.

Anti M - That is wonderful news!!! I am so glad this has worked out for you.

So we don't watch a lot of old movies around here, but my husband has been educating my youngest in the value of watching the original Star Trek shows. It is a good thing I have seen this episode - The Trouble with Tribbles because I haven't paid much attention to it while I have been reading your posts. I think my husband has watched this way too many times - He keeps saying all the quotes before they are said on the TV!!

  • Katharine

Yep .... concussion. I have a raging headache today. I have been taking it easier than normal. I'm glad I alerted the Twilight Bark (aka Navy families) before this happened. Hopefully tomorrow all the SR's will be out hunting for my lost spotted puppy (aka son).I need to keep away from my screens as much as possible for the next few day :(, but I will be checking for news.

  • Shanny

Oh no Katharine!!  Please get as much rest as you can. Avoid screens, keep the lights dim, and rest your brain!!  I will be thinking of you!

  • FlyEG14

Hi there! I haven't posted in awhile.  I am wondering if anyone knows if I should be getting a phone call from my SR if his projected PIR date is tomorrow, Sept. 24th? I never got more than a 5 min phone call from him. He said in his letters that his division is having a very challenging time and he is worried they won't pass BS. They all lost their opportunity to call home. If he is supposed to graduate tomorrow will I get a "I'm a Sailor" call after PIR or should I have received it already? I read up on all your wonderful advice and info about what to expect, but I'm still confused about this part. If his division didn't pass BS would he call me to tell me he has a new PIR date? I'm so so so on the edge of my seat wondering when I will get to talk to him and celebrate him. I'm sticking with "no news is good news", but it's coming down to the wire. Thank you!!

  • belovedbyHim

So chipmunk, on the trouble with tribbles episode,  I wish I had known this sooner.  Give your child one of the fur pom poms and tell them to keep it away from all food.  Then slowly start leaving more and more in their room! Fun and harmless prank.  You can get a big bag on Amazon fairly cheap.

  • VintageGal

FlyE14 - we have another mother on here who's son has PIR tomorrow so she may know the answer to that. She may be out for the evening though.

    Katharine- get some rest!
Your 101 Dalmatians reference was too cute!! That gave me the giggle that I really needed! LOL
  • partyofseven

    Shanny,

I know. I bet you are.  It will be weird if they march before bs21.

For your Navy allergies let them flow and PIR will be happening soon. I pray that all divisions will be able to march. Keep hanging in there and may you hear something today.

FlyEG14- Hey, it is good to see your post. If you don't hear tomorrow then hopefully Friday. We have another mom that is waiting for her call to. No news is good news and right now hang in there and yes this is the day you've been waiting for. Prayers for a call soon.

Katharine- Oh no. Yes please get some rest and take care of yourself.

  • Northwoodsmom

Katherine, holding you up in prayers that God will give you the desires of your heart and that you will hear something.

FlyEG14, Shanny and all Moms waiting for that I'm a Sailor call, prayers as you anxiously wait. Things are so different now but it use to be the beginning divisions went first  and if you were on the tail end you might not get the call until as late as Friday, but that was before Covid. We're all pulling for your recruits.

  • partyofseven

Good Morning Ladies and welcome to all of our new moms,

Shanny and FlyEG14, We are all pulling for you today. Prayers for calls and or letters to come thru and for PIR's to happen as scheduled. But as Shanny said it is a waiting game right now as the Navy gets all the divisions in.

Thank you for answering Shanny. That was great.

rebecca1957- I am sorry I had written to you but didn't not hit the reply button. Lol You will have to wait a little longer before you will be able to see them at A school. Each base has their own restrictions due to COVID.

For the ones that did graduate today Congratulations to our brand new Sailors. God bless you guys today and every day as you go thru this new journey.

Prayers for letters and calls to come thru today. Keep those phones with you at all times and those ringers on loud.

  • Chipmunk

Good morning - I won't be on much today and I don't know the answer to the BS questions. In the past those were all to be discussed in the PIR group but stuff is a mess right now so just stay conscientious  of what you post. I realize I am just sending you to another link but the RTC website was my go to during BC since I did not know about this site. Here is the link to RTC - FAQ

You can scroll though and look for information. I realize some of this is prior COVID but the baseline information will stay the same. I am copying this directly for you all.

    "GRADUATION CEREMONY

    Q. How can I find out if my recruit is graduating? Will you put a list up on the Web site?
    A. Recruits are required to contact their family if their training is disrupted and they will not graduate on time. If you have not heard from your recruit, no news is good news. Unfortunately, because we can have over 1,000 graduating Sailors each week and divisions may be running Battle Stations during the week of graduation; it is not feasible to accurately list every graduating recruit online."

I look forward to hearing that you all have finally heard from your new sailors but just stay patient!! Which is not my best habit!

  • C'sMom

FlyEG14 and Shanny:  praying you have peace while you wait for the call!

Katharine: praying your headache disappears quickly and that you find your spotted lost puppy!

  • LadyBluefire

Katharine - I hope you are feeling better today and you find your puppy ;).

FlyEG14 - I am answering as I weed thru emails so I am sure this will have been answered - PIR march is on Thursday but the last BST run through is after that and they do not call until they pass BST. I think I will be in this scenario as my son is in the last division in his group, lol. Another mom on here was in that boat too and her son said it was weird to march in PIR before doing BST 21.

Beloved - you are sneaky, lol. Not a huge Star Trek fan but that was a fun episode.

    Morning everyone else.

Yesterday I was to get form letter (based on past history) , #3’s photos AND the flags that flew for the 1st 3 Sailors. Well no FL (or today), then the delivery date for the flags changed to Friday and of this morning now I will get the photos and the flag. I am nervous about #4 as I am not sure if he will be leaving RTC or staying and that Form Letter is my almost confirmation. It is hard seeing the PIR group get theirs and personal letters, none from my son;s division though so that makes it a little easier.

In my 4 PIR group, the moderator Carolyn and I were pretty much called haters and Debbie Downers for daring to say that the recruiter might not have accurate addresses and it is always best to wait for the FL. I even talked to my son and am holding off. I will mail his letters Saturday though if I have not heard anything.

  • Phoenixmom

    Good Morning All, Happy Thursday!

Remember to keep phones close as those with PIR  should be making I'm a sailor calls. BST-21 a teamwork test that needs to be passed, if those Div. are having difficulty and it is unheard of not to pass but it does happen from time to time then they may have another chance at it but will definitely sit out of the Graduation, only because they just went thru and standing for long hours their knees can buckle from underneath them and can get seriously hurt. if you go to you tube and type in BST-21 you can watch a film on what they will be doing, it is pretty fascinating. here is also the site to read Battle Stations-21 (BST)

Hope you all have a great Day

  • Phoenixmom

Recruits will continue to graduate and participate in a smaller-scale ceremony, which will be videotaped and posted each FRIDAY on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand/ as well as our YouTube channel for RTC Public Affairs

  • Phoenixmom

As a reminder, the graduation ceremony is not live streamed. Rather, it is recorded on Thursday and the video is released on this page at 4 p.m. Central Time Friday.

Thinking about all you moms who are waiting to hear from your SRs especially the ones who are supposed to graduate today!

I mentioned recently that my SR graduated last week. He was held back three weeks right before BST21 because he failed the run portion of his PFA so he was moved to another division. He finished strong and I found out yesterday that he made it safely to his A school.

My point is that they can do this despite setbacks and we mommas can do it too! I feel so much better that he is done with boot camp and I actually got to talk to him on his phone yesterday--we all know that quality of the phones at GL are not that great!  He sounds so good and so mature! And he is excited to get started with A school.

Hooyah moms! BNMH to all of you!

  • VintageGal

Good morning to you all! I can’t wait to hear of your “I’m a Sailor” calls! Shanny and FlyEG14 - we’re thinking of you today <3  and to anyone I missed HOOYAH!!

Redrover0628- it brought some serious tears to my eyes to read what you wrote. Thank you, I look forward to telling you all this in the future.

  • Phoenixmom

Redrover0628 Congratulations to your Son and him becoming a Sailor!

Good Morning VintageGal, hope you have a Wonderful day!

  • Phoenixmom

    Today's PartyofSeven's Scripture:

  • VintageGal

Good morning Pheonixmom! Have a wonderful day as well! I hope online schooling goes smoothly today :)

  • Phoenixmom

VintageGal he is trying, He came to me Yesterday and said "Nana I'm trying Harder now" I said Ok that's what I want to hear, I know you are very smart and I need you to show your teacher how smart you are, and if you need help I need you to ask your teacher for help that is why she is there and your teacher but you have to let her know because she doesn't know if you need help, he agreed. LOL!

  • Phoenixmom

A Prayer for the scripture below:

Heavenly Father, Help me to look to Jesus as my ever present help in time of trouble and I pray that I may learn to place every single circumstance of life into Your hands. Thank You that my life is hid with Christ in God. Enlarge my faith in Your Word of truth and increase my understanding of Who You truly are, (Whom to know is life eternal) - not only in the future but here and now - in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

  • partyofseven

Phoenixmom- Thank you for the scripture. It's been a busy monring already.  :)

Here's hoping your little one has a better day today. That is good to hear. Good for him.

LadyBluefire- Good Morning, Ugh, I hate it when people do that. But then some of the other moms come to the rescue and put those debbie downers in their place. Lol

Prayers for you to hear something today.  :)

RedRover- Thank you for sharing. We need a positive message this morning.

We can do this moms. While our SR's our gone it makes us stronger to.

VintageGal- Good Morning have a great day as well. Today is my Friday!! Whoo Hoo and jean day to boot!!! Lol

  • Shanny

I could use some steadying thoughts today...  I just started going through my SRs clothes looking for the few things he said he wanted once he has an address and can have civilian clothes   I have none of them.  The tshirts are not here...  the sweatshirts are not here. (He only asked for a couple of T-shirts and underwear and pj pants). I can only do the underwear. She has his shirts and sweatshirts. I am trying to not go psycho right now on this.

  • VintageGal

Phoenixmom - your prayers always mean a lot to me.

that is so sweet to hear from your grandson. I work at an elementary school in PE and I just love our babies. I can picture one of our little guy’s saying something like that. Keep up that great attitude sweet boy :)

  • VintageGal

Partyofseven- Good morning, Woo Hoo to Fridays! have a great day!

Ladybluefire- Tell them not to bring that kind of Debbie downerism into Boot camp Moms and loved ones! Lol Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Shanny- OK you tell that little girl that your boy is graduating today and you need to send him his clothes and what would be a good time to come over and pick them up. PERIOD! Simple and to the point. Get it gurl!

  • Phoenixmom

Mrs. Shanny I wouldn't bother with her (Girlfriend) I would just go buy a pack of T-shirts and what he is needing. and just send New stuff to him. Don't stress your Pretty head over this, if there is a will there is a way!

    Thanks VintageGal!

  • Phoenixmom

Good Morning PartyofSeven have a Wonderful Day!

  • Shanny

Oh he asked for pj pants/lounging pants. Anyone know if he can have those or does he have to wait to level up as I have been told on some things?

  • Phoenixmom

Yes he can have those and a Nice soft blanket as well. only civilian clothing is when he phases up.
