I’m so excited! I got a phone call from my SR this evening. It sounds like he is doing well. He did live fire this week and will be doing damage control soon. He is still on track to PIR October 9. 

You are all so awesome!! Thank you so much...I really appreciate your wisdom and encouragement as I WAIT for the call. It didn't come today, so I am praying for one tomorrow. And for all the Mama's waiting for their FL, letters, calls. It' s THE BEST feeling getting a letter. Hang in there! 

MyKidsMom:  that is so awesome!!!  Calls are the best!!  I am so glad he is doing well!  Getting closer!

FlyEG14:  tomorrow, you and I are going to celebrate!  Still waiting for my call as well!

HOOYAH!!! Yeah, we got this!! My husband just came in and saw me crying as I was talking to ya'll. I said "I'm talking to my Navy Mom's!"....this has been such an incredible resource and support system. I've been so busy since school started (I teach 2nd grade), it's been a good distraction in some ways. :) I love coming here and checking what everyone is posting, feeling uplifted, and having connection to other women that understand. Blessings to you all. HOOYAH!!

Good evening ladies.....I received letter #3 today. He is going crazy in Q but the good news is he’s made friends!! THANK GOD!!! I’m so relieved for that. Now he’s not sure about his test. He’s about as confused as I am. I’m going to assume he has t gotten any of my letters yet which is concerning. I just don’t want him to think we’re not writing. Ughhhh!! He’s disappointed that he’s as low as pay grades go (he said it’s dumba$ level) which kinda made me sad. I mean at least he got in and HES THERE!!! He has hopes now that things will be fun when all is said & done with boot camp. (Positive is good) Also he mentioned finding a place to go away once he can come home....why does he think he will have time like that? I don’t get it. Then he couldn’t remember if he already told me but (YES HE TOLD ME) he wants me to ship him his Xbox when he’s allowed at A school possibly. SMH. I really hope he gets away from that eventually. School is school....he should concentrate on his studies but free time ok. I just know how he was here. Sometimes the only way I knew he was home or awake was bc he was yelling at his game. Lol I know some of you know what I’m talkin about!! I’m sure my neighbors don’t miss it. LOL!!!

P.S. According to my calculation is today would be his last day in Q. I wonder why he thinks it’s going to be so much longer. Idk can they keep him in there longer than 2 weeks? 

Holy moly... I've been swamped with work (high school counselor) and virtual schooling with my 5 year old and all the things - I'm like 30 pages behind! I don't think I'll be able to catch up! I hope everyone is doing well and hearing from their SRs!!!! 

Unicornlily- I understand! I can’t imagine how tough your job is right now! We are navy mom’s over here supporting each other and here welcome to you anytime. Tomorrow is Friday! Woohoo!! 

Hi ladies! My son left for bootcamp on September 8th. We got the call from him saying he made it, but nothing since. Is this to be expected? I read other moms have got letters or calls, but I havent. 

Jen - Hi welcome! There will be so much information from our veteran moms to fill you in Boot camp. I can personally say that I didn’t get a form letter that my SR filled out, after quarantine - during P days, until 28 days after he arrived. That is some what of a very rough timeline. (Nothing is certain) Although, not every mom got a FL but did get a personal letter. And then there’s a mother on here who hasn’t gotten a letter or a call and I believe when she gets her hands on him... um...  anywho.

I got my first phone call from my SR 38 days after he arrived and he said he had to work really hard for his phone call. 

So what I’m trying to say is nothing is typical but there is a wait on these things. They definitely take time. And as another mother on here knows if your SR’s division is a little rambunctious shall we say... sometimes the phone calls take longer to come your way. Everything‘s done as a team. 

I hope this helps, but rest assured we will be here every day for you to talk to. To cry with and to laugh with.

Kristel, I totally get it. My son's room was underneath ours,I could hear his gaming half the night. The silence was really hard after he left. We took his play station down to him after A School, I just yelled at him because he hasn't text me since. Got a text from him right away. I was hesitant on bringing it to him but he probably would of bought  one himself anyway wasting money.  He needs to learn to prioritize, study comes first or he can kiss his dreams goodbye.

Jen, my son was never a writer, I did get 2 letters but had to write half of it myself. He told me he was helping other recruits with their studies and memorizing things. Proud of him for that. I guess I could for go letters to have him help others to keep the division on track. Prayers you hear something soon.

@FlyEG14 and @Shanny:  praying you have peace while you wait for your calls!!

@Katharine: Praying for your headache to disappear quickly and you recover quickly from your concussion. Hope you get to see this once you come back to the electronics.

Aug 18-- Travel Day,

Aug 19-- ROM Day 1.

Aug 20- Sept 1- ROM,

Sept 2 On Board RTC & P1.

So Today starts Processing Days.

Sept 2-4 P-days,

Sept 5-7 P-hold,

Sept 8 & 9- P-days,

Sept 10 Training day 1.

Look for your form letter around Sept 17ish.  Maybe sooner may be a little later.  (Postal issues that I won't discuss on here)

Kristel2400 and Unicornlily05 - It is good to hear from you!!

Kristel2400 - I don't think they are keeping them longer than 2 weeks, but there could be reasons for changing that possibly, if they should happen to present with an infection. Hard to tell. From what I was reading on the RTC website this morning in the FAQ, if they have a change in their PIR status they should be calling you. So, again, "No News is Good News." 

It is so great to see everyone welcoming, encouraging and answering questions!!

Unicorn - yeah just jump in. The biggest thing right now is Katharine hasn’t received her FL and is dealing with a concussion, Shanny’s SR is about to PIR and Vintage’s SR went into another ROM.

Kristel - at least he got in the Navy. A friend of my son’s got an 8 on the ASVAB. LIke how does one get an 8?

Jen - my son left 8/27 and this is the week I should get my form letter and next weekend the call home.

MyKidsMom - yay for a call home! So nice to hear their voice after so long.

Jen:  welcome!!!  Can I just say, when you get your form letter or letter from your son, if he is really not a letter writer this is what I told my son:  I know you will be busy and probably not have a lot of time to write. But PLEASE let me know you are ok or even if you are not ok. Even a one line...  hi mom. Boot camp sucks but I am ok. Is enough. I will keep writing no matter what. But just let me know you are ok. 

And be prepared. The first letter can be rough for us to read. That’s normal. I almost went psycho on someone after the first letter. I wanted to find a way to go get him and save him. He graduated, sort of, today. And in his next letter he had made friends and was loving it. He has been happy since then.

LadyBluefire:  my son got talked into going in to talk to an Army recruiter with a friend and they asked him to take a practice ASVAB. He said he didn’t even read the questions just chose random answers. He had already chosen Navy but his friend was afraid to go alone. Not reading questions, he scored a 17 lol

Thanks Shanny! Im hoping everything is going good for him. We kept in contact on his way there between flights, he had 4 other kids going with him and said they were already buddies. Thats the one thing I cling to is he makes friends super easy and hoping hes at least feeling better knowing he has someone to connect with there. I pray every night him and all the other kids there are hanging in there and havin a bit of a laugh together when possible! 

Chipmunk:  I don’t even know where to go from here. I found this group and all of you were so welcoming and helpful so I never ventured out to check around for other places on here lol
