    Good Morning ladies!

Wide awake at 5am, second day in a row WTH! I love reading from bed first thing from what I missed with you girls over night. Omg I was laughing!!! Especially from adding things that need to be handled on the back of our Navy Mom Posse shirts!!!!

@katharine.....we’re all hoping your feeling better...I hope you come back soon or all of these funny chats will be buried. :)

@shanny.....ya know... I always found the broken ones too! I’m not sure what worse...broken or crazy?! Then there were some that were both. Arghhhhh!! And...thank goodness he’s away from her now. I REALLLLLLLLY HOPE YOU GET YOUR CALL TODAY! Let us know ok?!!

@unicorn.....great summary on updates!!! That helped me remember what’s going on. Some I remember but others I can’t keep straight. How are you sister? Happy to see you. (It’s killing me I can’t use emojis from my iPhone, if I do the message won’t send)

    @vintage, @party, @northwoods....
so glad there’s some moms who know about these crazy gamers. Lol the silence was  deafening the first 2 weeks. It’s gotten much better. It’s weird, I’ve been woken up by one of our cats to go out in the middle of the night and heard something from the direction of his room and as a habit thought, he’s STILL awake?! (Bc that would happen frequently) but reality hit really quickly ... it’s not him. It’s all good now. The balancing should be interesting but you’ve gotta grow up - responsibilities first, fun later

Jen....you’ve come to the right place. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned from these ladies. If it wasn’t for them I may have been locked in a white padded room & would’ve been completely in the dark about everything. I want to try to help you with the dates...then I will go clean something, I’ve been sooooo lazy. Next week I need to get back to the nordictrack elliptical & start getting away from my computer more. I work from home, (really hoping I stay remote) but find that I really don’t move too much. Horrible. Anyway here we go...

Here is how to Count your days.

    Sept 8 — Travel Day, sep8

    Sept 9 — ROM Day 1. Sep 9

    Sept 10-24 — ROM

    Sept 25 — On Board RTC & P1.

    So Today starts Processing Days!!!!

    Sept 25-27 — P-days

    Sept 28-30 — P-hold

    Oct 1-2 — P-days

    Oct 3 — Training day 1.

Look for your form letter and/or personal letter around Oct 10th.  Maybe sooner may be a little later.

    For terminology go here.... https://navyformoms.ning.com/custom/media/pdf/NavySpeak.pdf

Have a great day, ladies!! Wow it’s now 6... BNMH!! (I think I got the acronym right!) LOL. :-)

    Good morning!

First and foremost - I've been trying to post the same comment on here all morning and it isn't working - so if at some point it works and I've now posted the same comment 45 times - I'm sorry in advance!!!

The only story I've really been able to keep up with is Shanny and the stolen clothes! Haha. I feel like I'm so invested - I want to confront this girl to get them all back.

Kristel - The message I've been trying to post had an emoji and I thought that was the fix but it still won't submit so I don't know what's going on.

Thank you for all of your kind words about being a high school counselor!!! I always joke that I must be doing something right because teenagers like me, and teenagers really don't like anything or anyone!! Haha. But they are my favorite group of kids for sure. That's actually why I'm here - my SR is one of my graduates! I kind of became part mom figure, part mentor after he graduated because he didn't really have anyone. I couldn't imagine him going through this process without anyone writing him or checking on him.

That being said - he's been gone for almost 6 weeks now and hasn't gotten any of the 12 letters I've sent sooooooo I guess I'm really not impacting him all that much! Haha. I got the ROM call 2 weeks ago this Sunday - so I'm hoping he will be able to call and say he's out and get me a new address. And then maybe my letters will start getting to him? Hopefully???

  • Northwoodsmom

Good morning Ladies, put my red Friday shirt on today while praying for our military. My husband served 20 years in the Army Reserve and finished up in the Michigan National Guard. Fortunately for him he was never called up to defend our cities from rioting, he usually did crowd control over the Mackinac Bridge walk . My prayer also go out to all those brave men and woman who leave their families to protect us.

  • Kristel2400

@unicorn......First, I only see your comment once so your good.  Same here my SR had been back in ROM now - 14 days today!! I hope both our SRs will be back in training next week. You are such an amazing person for doing what you do - TRULY. I can’t imagine not doing it in person. Are you in school all days, all home or hybrid?  Thank you for being a counselor. Its such an important job especially senior year and then becoming a mentor for him. Omg. It brings tears to my eyes to think of any young SR starting this journey without any support. You’re an angel. Ok I’ll stop being mushy.....LOL. Oh and ID tells me another letter is coming today. Woohoooo!  I pray he says he’s got at least one of my letters. I’ll keep you updated.

I don’t know if our SRs can call us to tell us their back in training. *Maybe one of the ladies here can say.* I hope.

  • C'sMom

I've got to get going on my day, so I will catch up with everyone later.  But I'm finally starting to feel more connected with my son and what he is doing.  I haven't gotten the form letter yet, of course.  Too early.  But I believe from what I've  read on here, that he is in TG51, and his PIR is 10/29.  I'm even getting connected to the FB PIR group.  And I believe he is a weak out of P days.  Haven't heard anything from him.  And I'm counting on that right now.  No news is good news!  :D

Shanny:  I'm in on your posse!

  • Chipmunk

Good Morning Everyone!!  I decided yesterday that if I make sure I post a note in the morning, then at the end of the day, I can scroll back to it and read forward, instead of keeping up through my emails!! LOL!!

Hearing from our loved one  or "adopted" one whether they are a SR or a sailor - Just does ones heart good!!  We have more than just moms on this site and I do my best to stay mindful of that, but sometimes we forget.

It really is good to hear from all of you, even if you can only pop on and say Hi, thanks for giving me something to read and reflect on. We welcome new members all the time and some post and then some go silent for various reasons but it always leaves me wondering if there was more I could do to help them out - some I reach out to and they don't reply so we just stay hopeful. Know that our heart is to always be as helpful as we can be.

Kristel2400 - If I recall what BelovedbyHim said, the do not necessarily call to let you know they are going back into training. What I read on the RTC site implied that they are only required to notify if there is a change in their graduation time. Since there is no live PIR, this is probably less of a priority than it was before.

C'sMom2020 - Glad to hear you are doing better and getting your Navy feet - so to speak!

Morning Northwoodsmom - I am still in my pj's - that is just how my mornings are - sometimes! But I will get my RED on today.

Unicornlily05 - while I have the RTC site open - " Q. My recruit was set back in training and has a new address. What happens to their mail?
    A. When a recruit gets set back in training, they are processed out of their current division and placed into a new one. Any mail that wasn’t delivered to the recruit before they moved will get sent back to the mail room, marked with the new address, and then redelivered. This process can take time and causes delays in recruits receiving mail. If the recruit is set back multiple times, their mail will be even further delayed as it takes time to catch up to the recruit."

I think we have had a mixture of information as to how this is working with ROM at GL but the basic principle is still the same.

Ladies - So looking forward to hearing Good News today!!

  • LadyBluefire

Shanny - a 17? too funny.  We were visiting with said sailor when his friend called to say he got an 8 and asked my son for help. He said “study”. My son had already sent him the study links and practice test links.

Vintage - we play pokemon! We got my youngest son hooked on it, lol.

Unicorn - oh that’s so sweet that he has you to be there for him! LOL it is funny the stolen shirts is all you kept up with because in my rundown I forgot to mention that - that and our Navy Mom Posse which I am sure Shanny would welcome you as another member - so saddle up and let’s ride! I am not sure how they handle ROM now, I just know before they did 14 day ROM and my son went into quarantine mid training, I never got a call,  I just sent letters to his old address until I got his new one and he eventually got all my letters. His Q did not affect his PIR though.

Katharine - hope to see you on soon and news of your missing dog! ;)

Kristel I think you are looking at a different calendar for Jen (or maybe you just shifted numbers based on your schedule)- P hold days are on weekends only so 9/28-9/30 would not be P Hold days as that is Mon-Wed. For Jen - 9/23 is P1 day as 9/09-9/22 would have been 14 days of ROM. Weekends do count in ROM. 9/30 would be training week 1 day 1 and every Wed starts a new training week.

Jen - your SR should be in P days from 9/23-9/29 and start training 9/30 (if you got the I'm here call on 9/8)

Chipmunk - it was just 5 minutes of boiling water to kill germs, then blend it up and jar it up. We are night owls so I was still up because I normally go to bed between 12 and 1 am.

Today’s goal is to clean the downstairs master suite bedroom - if I say it here I am more likely to do it as I will feel I have to update and I want to have done it, lol.

So I am seeing informed delivery posts for my son's division - and I will assume H Sally is interfering a bit for my mail. So maybe by Monday?

Have a great day ladies - I am sure i will be tempted to sit at my desk and then read posts, lol.

  • LadyBluefire

I am going to share the calendar I made for #3 to  help me figure out where in training my 4th would be doing what based on letters from #3. Obviously the dates will not work but the training days will.

    September.jpg

  • LadyBluefire

Of course this is not all inclusive as I can only put down what he said he did, lol.

  • Chipmunk

Here is information on Informed Delivery - USPS - The link takes you to the USPS website and their information page and sign, up as well. I am not certain if ID is available in all areas of the US yet and some places (especially smaller towns) might have more issues with signing up for it. Just FYI - it scans a picture of your incoming mail and emails a picture of that to your email. If you have packages arriving it will send you the tracking numbers via email. The scans are done at the distribution center that then sends mail to your local PO, so there may be some delay depending on how close those are to each other.

You will need to set up an account for the Informed Delivery but once you do that, you will have that account if you need to set a Hold Mail as I think that is a requirement now for requesting Hold Mail via the internet.

    LBF - LOL

  • DsMom2020

Good morning all - STILL no FL, personal letter or phone call. Holding tight to his last words at the “I’m here” call. He warmly said “I love you very much mom”. I had incorrectly thought the l’m here call included his address. Had I known then that 5.5 weeks later, I’d still be waiting for contact from him, I would have had a much harder time. I realize I am fortunate in that no news is good news... Anyway, you all saved my sanity during this APRON STRING CUTTING TIME!

I had mixed feelings about his decision to enlist because of the danger and distance. He is my only child. That being said, I AM SO HAPPY HE IS AWAY FROM HIS PHONE AND XBOX!! He was addicted. I can relate to be awoken all night by the sound of yelling at the game. My son is sooooo smart (97 ASVAB) but after the first year, was not really trying at college (stayed up using his phone half the night but he did not have a gaming system at college). Anyway, I think he realized he needed to be challenged and needed more structure.  So.... I really don’t want to send him that Xbox if he asks for it. I had bought him a new one for his birthday and covid isolation (the old one was about 8 years old). I hope he doesn’t ask for it. But if he does, how horrible is it to just refuse to send it and make him spend his own money if he wants one badly enough? I know some moms have said they will help them send money and send it. What are the rest of you moms of game addicts planning to do? He will be going to NUK school and will need to apply himself. I hear it has the highest attrition rate and I don’t want to help him fail!

  • Chipmunk

Hi DavesMom2020 - so you are also getting out there with no news!!! Hang tight!! I can't imagine - I have to be honest, I admire all of you!! Even with my sailors schedule, I don't think I have been that long without news. You ladies are getting dunked in the water deep and learning to keep your head afloat!! All the better for when they are in the fleet!

As for gaming - I just posted a note in the Nuke Mom group - be sure to comment over there also. I keep intending to get a PM to you and I have not forgotten. Give him a slight break - Nuke school is hard, the attrition rate is high for various reasons, but gaming is also your son's stress reliever or boredom reliever, it just sort of depends. Don't play too hard and fast with him just yet!!  Be sure to read my discussion in that group about A school schedule, if you haven't already, it should be up in the queue. My sailor didn't have a gaming system but he had his computer games and he knew when his down time was and when it was time to study - None of them like mandatory study hours!!

  • Chipmunk

Okay, I really have to scoot off of here today - time for someone else to take over, or we will touch base later!!

  • kim's husband Troy

Cmom2020 - Our son is also in TG-51 so if you hear anything let us know. We will do the same! Would be neat if they happened to be in the same division!

  • Phoenixmom

Good Morning Ladies Hoping all is good, Happy Friday!

I have to say I have been really emotional Lately, my Birthday is coming up the Holidays, and My Ben isn't around .I think this first Holiday is going to be really hard for me as I am feeling it now, Still not feeling good don't know what is wrong, cant eat or want to eat but tired of the pain that comes with it that I'd rather not. Once I see the Surgeon in regards to Colonoscopy heading back to Dr. to get my Pancreas check, something just isn't right. Just taking it one day at a time, very stressed and overwhelmed. trying to keep myself busy as well so I don't think to much into the situation. Well enough of my sob story.

Wishing Letters and calls be received this weekend, that would make for a Perfect weekend!

C'sMom so glad things are getting better for you, hang in there.

LadyBlueFire good luck with the cleaning, I went home last night and cleaned my house, just need to clean my room and bathroom. Having a dinner for my Brother in Law and his wife and my Hubby's cousin. these two had strokes around the same time a year after my husband. except not so damaging as my Husband's. so I thought it would be nice to do some cooking and have a nice evening with them.

well all I hope today brings good news your way, Have a Great Day!

    Posting for Mrs. PartyofSeven:

  • Phoenixmom

A Prayer for the scripture Below:

Heavenly Father, Even when temptation has a hold on us, give us the wisdom and strength to follow you. When our path seems dark, please help us to follow the light.  Thank you for being there to guide us. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

  • Kristel2400

@davesmom....I too am so glad mine is also away from his Xbox & iphone. He was NEVER PRESENT. I’d love to refuse to send it too but my son will just buy another & that’s crazy. Or his dad (my ex) would. He just bought him high end material things ya know a typical “Disneyland dad” and My SR didn’t care. Like new air jordans. Ridiculous. So I’ll just send it. Anyways... I hear you, I get it. I’m interested to see  what others are thinking on this topic too.

@LBF!!!! I’m so sorry I messed up the calendar/timing. That’s exactly what I did, changed dates based on what mine were. I’m glad you caught my error, I just wanted to help @jen as soon as I could or thought I could. Lol I knew I should’ve left this to the professionals! P.S. I love this short abbrev for your name.

@unicorn....I hope you know YOURE included each time I say mama or mom. I’m going to try to be more mindful of this. Sometime I just need to get all my thoughts out and don’t even realize it. SENDING YOU HUGS!

  • DsMom2020

Chipmunk - thanks for the response. I looked for your gaming note on Nuke Mom group but can't find it. I realize you are off right now, but perhaps sometime soon you could help me figure out how to navigate to it.

  • DsMom2020

Phoenixmom - You are very brave, I realize it must be scary to feel bad every time you try to eat after having battled cancer. There is so many things it could be that are easily treatable. I will pray for you.

  • Phoenixmom

Thanks DavesMom2020 I will be fine, if it's in Gods will He will heal me, and lead me to find what it is. staying positive as best as I can.

  • MyKidsMom

    Good morning everyone!

DavesMom2020 - The note on gaming is in the middle of her last post on Nuke Mom. I joined that group because my SR is going into the nuke program.

I read the comments on here and pray for requests that come in, but I don’t post much. I hope everyone has a good day and that those of you who are waiting for letters and (good) phone calls get them.

  • LadyBluefire

Form when my hubby was in Nuc A school - it is so very stressful and gaming is what kept him sane.

    Good morning ladies,
I hope you all enjoy your day! Looking forward to hearing of “I’m a Sailor” calls!

Pheonixmom - Amen - thank you so much

I concur with having a gamer of my own. The last night he could play he was in the loft laughing and talking with his friends and I was eating up every last second of it. (Sigh)

TGIF is all I gotta say!!
  • LadyBluefire

Phoenix - I hope that wasn't too much work for you! I get tired easily and I didnt just have cancer! I am sure they would have overlooked a less than perfect looking house! I am so sorry you are feeling off. I hope you get answers soon!

Kristel - thanks for taking my correction in the spirit it was intended. My Spidey sense went off and I had to answer it, lol. I understand the high end purchases from an ex. That is how mine rolls but with only one of our kids and not the other. It made me sad for the one. Then of course these high end gifts made it back to my house and then the other 3 kids would be looking at us to make things even, we had a rule dad stuff stays at dad's house but it never worked out that way. We had to buy for 5 and couldn't afford to "keep up".

As for LBF every time I see it I think of LBD - little black dress, lol. My husband made a handle back way back before the internet as we know it and he called it Realm of Bluefire. I am his lady so LadyBluefire.

I was a good girl and cleaned the windows, dusted, vaccumed and even magic erasered one of the doors as hubs pointed out how gross it was. Amazing what doors and door jambs look like when you actually LOOK at them, lol.

Now I am deciding between continuing onto another room or just taking a break. I have to say I love handheld electronics and streaming apps as watching those while I work makes it more pleasurable!

  • LadyBluefire

I will vent here - we went to see #2 and he spent countless hours on his PS4 - being able to connect to the internet he wanted to DL the newest season of w/e stupid game he was on. That way he could play it offline when on ship. I wanted to spend time with him undistracted. Then I just had to tell myself I don;t care as long as I can be in the same room as him. Truthfully I wanted to smack him. That is how he spent most days before shipping out and in his letters from BC he said he regretted doing that vs spending time with us. BOYS!!

  • Shanny

Good Morning everyone!!!  I will catch up eventually. Fighting another headache so sitting here drinking more coffee hoping a caffeine God will work its magic...

question for our veteran moms. I know that nothing is normal with COVID but...  no phone call yet..  but it’s only 11:30 am. However, I just read a post by a mom in my PIR group. Her son texted her from the bus saying everyone heading to To a certain spot are on the bus and heading out to an airfield. Is it possible, since my son is in the same PIR and heading to the same location, that he may have gone straight from BS to the airfield? No calls or any of the post BS stuff?  I mean I guess I will know as soon as I hear either a call from BC or a text from his phone but just wondering if anyone knows?  Back to my very large yeti of coffee. Have I mentioned I don’t like the taste of coffee but I love creamer?  This is all kinds of gross

  • LadyBluefire

Shanny - the sailors traveling are now grouped by A school. So if they are going to the same A school as your son then chances are yes. However, once they are en route to A school they have their cell phones back.

The state my last SR went to had 2 A schools and group 1 left to go to Biloxi, MS and my son left days later to go to Meridian, MS. So the same state is not enough of an indication.

AND if they were doing BST last night I am not sure if they would round them up to go to A school a mere few hours later. But my kids so far all did BST before the PIR march so I don;t rightly now how soon after BST they would transport them.

  • LadyBluefire

Shanny - I asked moms to text their sons to find out about my SR being on the bus or what have you - dont be shy! Most don;t mind!

  • LadyBluefire

Shanny -ugh another thought - look in  your message requests on Facebook every once in a while - I had moms send me messages that way..

Oh and I hope the coffee gods work their magic!

  • Shanny

LadyBluefire: the lady said just said her son was going to Corry and mine would be NAS. None of the names were familiar to me that she posted. And looks like most are from earlier divisions same PIR. Argh

  • LadyBluefire

Shanny - yeah I bet when you hear Pensacola you perk up!

Don't be shy, post asking anyone whose SR is en route to Corry if there are any NAS there and even put your son's name in there.

  • Chipmunk

Just a quickie!! LOL - that was suppose to be this morning!!

MyKidsMom - Thanks!! DavesMom2020 - did you find it? I was replying to Northwoodsmom.

Kristel2400 - I am glad you wanted to help Jen out!! We all learn and we glean from each other. Do not hesitate to post something if you think you can help. Especially if we have someone new and you don't know if they will get a quick reply from someone else.  If something is not right, likely someone will post a correction. I have had my fair share of those happen to me as well.

Okay, I officially have my RED on and dressed for the day and loosing the natural sunlight in my work room, so scooting off for now!

RED Fridays - Remember Everyone Deployed - some of us also fly our flags or light blue candles.

Shanny - I missed your note! Okay, at this point, I would say anything is fair game!! So, drink away at your coffee, I like hot chocolate! Bundle up if it is cold your way, plan to do some activity that you don't want to be interrupted in, (at least pretend) but have that phone handy and close by because the next lesson to learn is that just like in BC, when in the fleet they will call you when you least expect it and are in the middle of doing something. Even putting clothes in the washing machine!!

Hang tight - He loves his momma and he will contact you as soon as he is given the freedom to do so - You just never know and playing the comparison game doesn't work. Those of us who do communicate with each other just give a signal to be ready, just in case, but it doesn't always mean it will happen.

    BNMHs!!!

Hi ladies, since my son is in ROM should I be getting a new address to send his mail to or do they forward it to him and then it’s up to him to mail me back with his new address? I’m sure someone has addressed this but I just can’t remember.

Vintage - just send where you knew last til you hear otherwise, make copies of the letters. What was his original PIR? Wondering if you'll move into my son's PIR.
