oh and I forgot - good morning everyone!

  • kim's husband Troy

LadyBlue - hoping for a call soon and I'll ask questions. My wife and I also agree that strict RDC's are probably just trying to get their attention when talking about attention to detail and not messing up. I know he will focus and give his best effort. As for the 6 gone from the division. Not sure if he would even know if they quit? Possibly they were just set back in training for various reasons? Either way I believe his RDC's have his undivided attention LOL. Thank you for explaining cadence. I'm obviously new to the lingo haha!

    Mrs. PartyofSeven's scripture:

Thank You B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN  many a Mom's waiting Patiently!

A Prayer Below for the scripture:

Thank You, Heavenly Father, that You know the end from the beginning and that everything under heaven is within Your authority. Thank You, that You are in control of all that is happening in our own individual life and the wider world in general. May we trust You through all the circumstances of life and as we seek Your face in prayer and praise, may we learn more and more to pray, "Thy will be done in our life and throughout the world." In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Recruits will continue to graduate and participate in a smaller-scale ceremony, which will be videotaped and posted each FRIDAY on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand/ as well as our YouTube channel for RTC Public Affairs.

LBF & Beloved - re-read the comments, I owe my thanks to Beloved for setting me straight that there is NO CHANCE we will get to attend PIR any time soon, even if other branches are opening their bases. False hope and the stress of trying to plan something on a “maybe” would have been unnecessary stress. Anyway, thank you Beloved!

Kim - glad you got a letter!! My son didn’t write to me (I knew chances were slim, so I sent him multiple choice letters to mail back, those were not mailed back either)... but he says he is in a leadership position and is just too busy (I’ll take that as a valid excuse). His 1st (and only) call came just before 6 weeks. Never got the possible “3week call”. I am learning patience and delayed gratification. With just 2 weeks until PIR, I’m back to praying he DOESN’T call (example return to ROM). I can hardly wait for his first real phone call once at A school - I hope for at least an hour to catch up on everything that happened! The good thing is, I never had to feel sad as so many mamas do when they hear their SR is struggling or depressed. I would agree your SR will be fine because he is trying!!

Ladies - I do have a question about the “I’m a Sailor” call. I think someone said that it comes 7-10 days before PIR? I don’t understand how it can come before BS 21 since that is required to actually become a sailor? How many days (ball park) before PIR do they begin BS21 with so many divisions having to do it? I think TG 49 has a lot of divisions. Are you allowed to even answer that question? Pls PM if not okay for group discussion.

LBL - I think we need a picture of your beautiful wood floors! When I lived in the Philippines, I went to a private school with beautiful mahogany floors. We had to clean and wax our classroom every Friday. We used coconut husks. The coconut was cut in half and turned upside down. We would put one foot on it and push it back and forth. When we moved back to the states, my mom put a wood floor in our kitchen - she used an electric buffer to clean it  and I still remember her complaining every time one of us scuffed it up!!

Phoenix- I meant to chime in yesterday - I agree that your faith, strength and attitude are truly admirable! Our family calls it “looking at the glass as half-FULL”.

Everyone - have a good day.

  • Phoenixmom

Wanted to share a quote I just received:

One Day you will look back and realize that you worried too much about things don't really matter, Enjoy the Moment-God gave you oxygen to breathe. AMEN!

  • LadyBluefire

Davesmom - Sailor calls come the Tuesday - Thursday before PIR - sometimes AFTER PIR. Right after they pass BST as that is only when they are truly sailors. That is their true graduation.

That floor cleaning in the Phillipines sounds like a lot of work! Once I clean my floors I am on the warpath making sure NO bare feetsies touch it as it leaves greasy prints!
Here is the photo - now imagine 1000 sq ft of this. It may be more that is just a rough estimate.
    Wood Floors.jpg

  • Phoenixmom

    Thank You DavesMom2020!

LadyBluefire I totally agree with you, I have Italian Porcelian in My Kitchen and It shines so nice but sometimes I cannot get the footprints off as I mop and Mop. Nice Looking floors!

  • Phoenixmom

As Far as BST-21 LadyBluefire is correct,

"I'm a Sailor!" calls, which are typically made 1 to 7 days before PIR, but can come up to 10 days before PIR, are in the afternoon and evenings and begin around 2ish pm CST and end around 8ish pm CST. (See Battle Stations-21 (BST).)

  • LadyBluefire

Davesmom - here you can almost see the enormity of the job - this is about half the surface area and it goes all the way to the windows there in the back.

    Floor take 2.jpg.

  • VintageGal

LadyBlueFire- wow! Great job on those floors! What a glow! :)
  • Chipmunk

DavesMom2020 - Yes, there are a lot of divisions in a TG and they each do their own BS so getting all of them done before live PIR took a span of time which is why the 1 - 7/ 10 days prior to PIR. Since no live PIR we are hearing calls are not coming in until afterwards as well.

  • Chipmunk

For those interesting in trying to figure out more on our discussions about social media posting, etc. I added a comment to B'sNukeMom's discussion above OPSEC / PERSEC - I went hunting for some links that maybe gave some more examples.

  • MaterNauta

    Beloved & Chipmunk: *Thank you!*

    Praying with a renewed intensity!!!!!

  • Phoenixmom

I would like to apologize if my Postings  have caused discomfort or have made you feel uneasy. That was not my Intentions. I can assure you this is the only site I seem to post and no one else Knows anything of my Postings on my Son's whereabouts and ship/Carrier. Rest assure that I am fully aware and know not to speak on it again. Thank You!

  • LadyBluefire

Phoenix - awww don't not post cause you do need to talk about it - just maybe be more vague on the times he comes and goes :). Like wait he is there to say he is there and when he is gone say he left...

  • Shanny

Good Afternoon everyone!  I took a day or so to see about getting these headaches under control..  I am blissfully about 36 hours headache free.  So I need to get caught up..  Hope everyone is doing well.

I saw a new Sailor!!!!  wooohoooo

And letters and phone calls!  Looks like great things are happening in the short time I was away!  Maybe I should be away more!

Off to my corner to catch up on this rainy, stormy day!  BNMHs to everyone!

  • belovedbyHim

DavesMom2020—I HATE that you all do not have even the brief time together to look forward to! I also HATE having to break that news to you all but yes, having you get your hopes up and trying to make plans only to get them dashed would be sooooooo much worse.
BS21 typically takes place the week prior to PIR.  The lower the Div number in that week’s TG the earlier they will do BS21 and the sooner they will call.  So far I have only heard on 1 Div that Marched in PIR but had not completed BS21.  You can read more at https://navyformoms.ning.com/group/bootcampmoms/page/battle-station...

  • Shanny

BelovedbyHim:  my sailor was in one of the divisions that walked before BST. There were 3 total divisions in the group. Some left right after BST for A School within hours. But we were the exception as there were issues among some divisions that but everyone on a delay. But I got to see my son in the video when he walked.

  • Northwoodsmom

belovedbyHim, you are so right with it being sooooooo much worst after you make all those plans. I remember them canceling our PIR 3 days before we were suppose to leave and it was devastating. I was in complete tears as I tried to hold things together while canceling all of our reservations. I spent months on the items I made for Sarge's Meet and Greet, most of them I just gave away at the airport. I'm one to keep hope alive as long as possible but that was ache I will never forget. Thank you for always thinking about the feelings of others, sometimes I know we take the administration the wrong way. God Bless your hard dedicated work.

  • belovedbyHim

Shanny-- I knew that.  I just wanted to make some of our new moms aware that it is NOT the norm but also that nothing since late March has been the Norm!!

NWM-- I remember well the shock and just hearing your heartbreak!  I knew there was NOTHING we could do for you at that time but I will admit that this experienced mom shed several tears (And got ribbed for it) when all that was happening.  I'm not Admin but I try and help and Hopefully the Admins have it a bit easier for my assistance.

I guess I should read all my email before replying.  I see that PhoenixMom posted the BS21 site already.  I hope it answers questions.

  • Shanny

BelovedbyHim:  hope I didn't come across as cranky...  i have learned my experience was not the norm and I am thankful for that for everyone else!  This ride is a crazy and unpredictable one. And all of you ladies have been a great source of comfort!

Off to the store for dog food I forgot to get...  i so wish I didn't have to drive 17 miles for a store

  • belovedbyHim

Shanny-- Nope not Cranky at all.  Just clarifying so if new moms are reading they realize that right now what happens for one mom may not happen again or it may be the new way or it may happen sometimes or... COVID NAVY!!!  In the Before it was easier to say this then that followed by the other, but now... it is just the wild west of silence and Semper Gumby!!  Maybe we should all take up Yoga with how flexible we have to be.

  • LadyBluefire

Toby - I asked my #3 SR and he said night of arrival for moment of truth was the night they arrived at RTC after the initial 14 day ROM. But, with the Navy that could change, lol.

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

Ladies - the October PIR group is up - here's the link:

    PIR OCTOBER 2020

  • Phoenixmom

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

For some reason the site isn't letting me "feature" the group on the main page....I'm working on it though.  So for now you'll just have to click on the link here in the boot camp group.

  • C'sMom

    Catherine:  Great news!  Congratulations!

kim and everyone else:  I’m not worried about my SR, but can they just quit?  I didn’t think it was that easy.  I’m also hoping for a call soon to see how the actual boot camp is.  His last letter was written on his P5 day.

    What is moment of truth?

Yay for the PIR October 2020 group!

  • C'sMom

B's Nuke:  I tried to join, but it says it's by invitation only.  Where do I see the invitation?  I clicked on your link below.

  • LadyBluefire

Cs mom - you should watch making a sailor on youtube.

Moment of truth is where they get them to fess up with anything they should have divulged to the Navy. The RDCs scare the recruits by saying stuff like we know someone is hiding something, tell us now and you won't get in trouble. Usually happens when they have had very little sleep.

  • C'sMom

LBF:  I did watch it, but I don't remember seeing that.  Is there a newer one?  This one was dated 2018.  Maybe I'll have to watch it again.  I may have missed other things, too!  Lol

  • LadyBluefire

Cs mom - it has been so long since I watched it now I am not sure if it is in there or not. LOL.

  • C'sMom

So our SR would have already gone through the Moment of Truth when he wrote his letter on P5 day, correct?

  • B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet)

C'sMom2020 - try again.  It should be fixed now.

  • Phoenixmom

the link will still ask you to wait to join to get the ok Unless it's different now?

  • MyKidsMom

Phoenixmom - It does, but it didn’t take real long to get the ok.

  • Phoenixmom

MyKidsMom it usually doesn't, Glad you were able to get in!

  • Phoenixmom

C'sMom2020 that is the only video they have as far as Making of a Sailor.

  • VintageGal

B’sNukeMom⚓️MMN - thanks for all you’ve done! We appreciate you!

Pheonixmom- thanks for your kind words and support!

You ladies are a blessing with all your much needed and appreciated information!!
  • VintageGal

Only 3 more days of my SR’s second ROM!! I saw on my informed delivery that we have two letters on their way... should be here any minute now!! I can’t imagine that they’re happy letters due to ROM but hopefully he’s sounds hopeful and has friends to talk to. We’ll see.
  • Shanny

VintageGal:  so happy he is getting close to being out of there!!! I can’t imagine having to go through that. I hope you have good letters coming!  Hopefully he was in there with some friends and the time went quickly for him

  • C'sMom

VintageGal:  When you hear, let us know how they do ROM after being at GL.   I'm thinking of sending pages of soduko and other things to my SR so that if he goes into ROM again, he has something to keep him busier.  Any other thoughts of what we can send them to do?  He really isn't into that type of thing, but, hey, when youyou're bored . . . .

  • Phoenixmom

    That's Great News VintageGal!

Well folks I am making the exit. Hope everyone has a nice evening! Until tomorrow, Good Night!

  • VintageGal

The... mail... is... usually... here... by... now...! My dog isn’t even excited to go all the way to the mailbox anymore after the 4th time :-/ she waits in the grass and stares at me LOL. That’s it I’m taking a book outside while I wait.
    HE’s here!!
  • belovedbyHim

C'sMom2020—Before the end of BC, Yes.  However as I stated earlier this week, they will be there for about 4-6 weeks to be processed out.  Yes,  they will have already gone through the “Moment of Truth” on P5.  Honestly, as long as they were honest in DEP and MEPS they are fine.  They will be processed out if they stand at the Moment of Truth.

  • belovedbyHim

VintageGal-- Hoping they are Good Letters!!! Happy reading!
